A Thousand Worlds of Harry Potter and the Curse of Slytherin
Chapter 10
They left the castle and walked along the path to a grassy area far away from the crowd, each holding a flying broom under their arms.
Ron also borrowed a football from Seamus, preparing to use it as a ghost ball to practice intercepting later.
The afternoon sun was warm but not blinding, and it warmed their shoulders.
They were already very close to Haig's hut. Harry looked hopefully, but there was no smoke rising from the roof, which meant that Haig had not returned yet.
Harry was a little worried, not knowing what Dumbledore had sent him to do.
He shook his head, stopped thinking about Haig, and began to concentrate on chasing the ball. He stepped on the broom and flew into the sky, throwing the ball at the imaginary goal from various angles.
Surprisingly, Ron's level seemed to have improved since the summer vacation. No matter which angle Harry tried to break through, he could defend flawlessly.
They played for the whole afternoon and were very happy.
"That's great, Ron!" Harry said sincerely, "You will definitely be selected!"
But after dinner, Ron began to tense up, and Harry repeatedly advised him to relax, but it was no use.
Seeing that they had arrived at the Quidditch stadium, the players of Gryffindor's team had already arrived.
Harry could only try to appease Ron in vain, and walked towards his teammates in resignation.
The Weisles twins were batters. When they saw Ron also holding a broom and standing on the side waiting for the assessment, they immediately jumped happily around Ron and said a lot of witty words, which made Ron even more embarrassed and annoyed.
In Gryffindor's Quidditch goalkeeper selection … Ron's performance was not bad. Although he missed two goals, Harry felt that he was much better than the fourth-year player Eric Chad — he was the other most likely to be selected.
But Ron was depressed.
Angelina announced that the final winner would be decided between the two of them.
The semi-finals would be held tomorrow.
The sky gradually darkened, and the others began to return to the castle in twos and threes.
Harry looked up and saw a flock of grey birds flying across the sky and landing in the Forbidden Forest.
In the twilight, the Forbidden Forest appeared particularly gloomy, as if it was hiding some kind of ghost legend.
Harry knew that there were many magical creatures living in the Forbidden Forest, such as spiders, Centaur, and unicorns.
Harry was suddenly stunned. The flock of birds that had just landed flew up again and circled above the Forbidden Forest as if they were alarmed by something.
Harry stared at the Forbidden Forest curiously. She saw a tall, dark figure waddling out of the forest. His hair was messy, and his body was twice as tall and three times as wide as a normal person.
That was — —
Harry's heart suddenly jumped with joy — it was Haig!
He called Ron happily and hurriedly ran over. Haig looked up and saw them. He laughed and said, "Ah, it's you."
Harry and Ron stepped forward and hugged Haig. Haig's huge palm almost slapped all the air out of Harry's lungs.
"I have to go back first … to clean up," he said vaguely. Harry and Ron finally had time to look at him carefully. They couldn't help but be shocked.
Haig's appearance was very miserable.
His hair was messy, and there were blood clots on it. His left eye was swollen into a slit, blue and purple. His face and hands were covered with wounds, and some of them were still bleeding. The way he walked was also very strange.
"What's going on?
You — — "
"It's okay, it's okay!" Haig waved his hand and interrupted their questions.
They returned to the hut. Haig made a stove and put a copper kettle on it.
"What happened to you?" Harry asked. Yaya put his head on his knee, and his saliva wet his robe.
"Nothing, really," Haig said stubbornly. "Do you want a cup of tea?"
They stayed in Haig's hut for a long time, trying to find out what had happened to Haig during the summer vacation, but he refused to say anything.
Harry thought that since Hagrid was back, he didn't need to do Professor Graplan's homework anymore. However, Hagrid said that he had other things to do. He might be a little busy this semester, so Professor Graplan was still in charge of the conservation magical biology class.
Harry thought that this was actually a good thing. At least Professor Graplan wouldn't make some fried tail snails for them to raise.
However, he and Ron were both wise enough not to show their emotions.
When the castle was about to close, they reluctantly said goodbye to Haig and prepared to return to the comfortable dormitory in Gryffindor Tower to have a good night's sleep.
Ron had just opened the door when Harry suddenly pulled her back.
"Harry?
What — — "
"Shh — —"
Harry pulled Ron back into the hut and gently closed the door, leaving only a gap for them to look outside.
The night was as dark as ink, but they could still see the outline of the Forbidden Forest under the moonlight.
They saw a person slip out of the Forbidden Forest, look left and right, and stride towards the castle with his head up and chest out.
"Who's that?"
Haig saw their movements and leaned over to look. However, it was difficult for him to do so. His body pressed heavily against Ron and Harry, forcing them to stick to the door.
"That's the new Defense Against Black Magic professor. Her surname is Umrich. She was sent by the Ministry of Magic."
Harry rubbed his ribs and answered. He recognized Umrich's short figure and her huge bow.
"Ministry of Magic?" Haig was confused.
"Why did Dumbledore agree to let someone from the Ministry of Magic be a teacher in the school — —"
"Why did Umrich go to the Forbidden Forest?
You also went to the Forbidden Forest when you came back, "Harry asked suspiciously." Haig, what's in the Forbidden Forest? "
Haig cleared his throat loudly. "Okay, you guys, go back to sleep.
Remember to say hello to Hermione for me. "
"Haig — —"
"Go back!"
They hurried back to the castle and returned to Gryffindor's common room. Hermione was sitting on the sofa near the fire, reading a book. In front of her were two wooden needles automatically knitting a strange "hat."
They told Hermione the news of Haig's return, and Hermione was very happy.
However, Hermione was also very confused about Haig's abnormality.
As for Umrich, Hermione believed that she had preached in class that all non-wizard magic creatures should be controlled and closely monitored. Since she knew that there were many magic creatures living in the Forbidden Forest, she would definitely try to catch Dumbledore's weakness.
They discussed for a long time, yawning, and finally agreed to go see Haig together tomorrow and returned to their dormitory.
