Dragon Rider Warplane

Chapter 764

Chapter 764: Who Touched My Plane

Last night was pitch dark. To be honest, Lin Mo didn’t really see clearly. Subconsciously, he thought it was just a little boy, so he casually grabbed the “Little Chicken” and tossed him into the back seat of his cockpit, not expecting to stir up this trouble.

Now, with the camp’s lights, he could vaguely make sense of the situation.

But Squadron Leader Zhang Zhenyu wasn’t pleased. Why did he end up with Lin Mo’s prize? Did someone switch it?

This matter was serious and needed clarification. The distinguished squad couldn’t let anyone be wronged.

“Impossible! Who would switch it? Look at the hair, appearance, and build! Where am I supposed to find a switch for you? Don’t slander good people.”

Squadron Leader Zhang Zhenyu protested. Although he was being held by Lin Mo, his voice was as loud as ever. With his short, blond hair, he stood out like a crane among chickens in the Kurdish crowd.

It was no surprise that Squadron Leader Zhang Zhenyu’s team casually tossed this young girl among them without binding her. In these desolate mountains, they weren’t afraid of her escaping; maybe she wouldn’t run far and would instead end up as wolf food.

Seeing Old Zhang’s expression, there seemed to be no deceit. There was truly no reason to switch, so Lin Mo paused and turned to look at the “prize.”

The Dragon Knight glared at Lin Mo, puffing her cheeks and pouting, clearly furious. Last night had left a profound impression on her. Although she wore a dark robe, her laptop, never leaving her side, confirmed her identity.

Perhaps it wasn’t as Lin Mo imagined; there was no switch—just a case of the Dragon Knight not noticing the difference between boys and girls.

“Alright, I was wrong! I’m sorry!”

The Dragon Knight awkwardly put Squadron Leader Zhang Zhenyu down, patting the dust off his "Dragon Guard" armor as if to appease him.

Admitting fault was wise; otherwise, she would surely be dragged off to be target practice. Although the powered armor could withstand bullets, it would be quite embarrassing.

Squadron Leader Zhang Zhenyu quickly distanced himself from this troublemaker and began to organize everyone; dawn was approaching.

“Hey! Did you grab me?”

The little girl confronted Lin Mo aggressively, glaring at him. Her rosy little lips looked like they could hold a soy sauce bottle. Although she didn’t know the name of the figure in the black armor who resembled a star soldier, she decided to call Lin Mo “Hey!”

“It was me. So what?”

Lin Mo didn’t take this girl seriously at all. He turned to glance at her, knowing he could easily catch her again if needed. What was there to fear about this girl being defiant?

Still wearing his tactical helmet, he radiated a killing intent as the “Dragon General.” Even during the day, his aggressive tone awoke the girl’s terrifying memories from the previous night, making her shiver involuntarily.

“You, you bad guy!”

Tears glistened in the little girl’s eyes. The bad guy had actually grabbed her clothing at her chest, showing no tenderness, leaving her both angry and embarrassed.

“Bad guy?! Am I a good person?”

Lin Mo, having received a “bad guy” card, froze for a moment and suddenly burst into laughter, calling out loudly to Squadron Leader Zhang Zhenyu, who was supervising the crew setting up camp, “Avanti, am I a good person?”

“You’re that bastard!” Squadron Leader Zhang Zhenyu responded, raising his middle finger at Lin Mo from a distance. He hadn’t forgotten being caught in front of his subordinates and sent another “bastard” card his way.

Lin Mo blushed slightly, glad his tactical helmet covered it. He turned back and said, “So, what’s up, little girl? I’m a bad egg, and you should realize your situation as a captive. Tell me, are you controlling that powered armor?”

Bad guy + bastard = bad egg!

The Dragon Knight was good at elementary math. Understanding Lin Mo was no good person, she quickly gave in.

“So what if I am?” The girl had no cunning. Compared to Morin, who grew up learning to survive, she was far simpler. Just a few words and she confessed without prompting.

“Didn’t expect you to have these skills. Now explain how you did it? If you dare lie to me, hmm! I’ll spank you!”

Lin Mo waved his hand, starting to scare the little girl heartlessly, picking up a stone from the ground and crushing it into powder right in front of her.

Although he spoke boldly, internally, he was quite pleased with himself. He had caught a big fish; anyone who could crack the safety mechanism of powered armor was definitely a talent. This captive was a perfect catch.

How could this little body be harder than a rock? The startled little girl couldn’t react at all. All she could think about was that the person might spank her, so she hurriedly squeezed her laptop to cover her little bottom, forgetting that her bottom was already two halves. Her face flushed bright red as she exclaimed, “It’s easy! Just reroute the lines to bypass the inspection mechanism, then create a chip and make a verification system, and add some control components…”

The little girl showed no cunning as she blurted out a series of high-tech jargon that sounded perplexing, revealing her methods to control the combat-powered armor without reservation, her tone almost proud.

Although Lin Mo wasn’t as skilled in hardware and software as the gold giant dragon, he could still tell from her words that this little girl was truly talented. She forcibly cracked the security mechanism of the "Ya Zi-2" combat-powered armor and turned it into her puppet.

This was no easy feat. Besides using a large number of technicians and time, it took an extremely talented person to accomplish.

Clearly, Lin Mo had caught a real big fish. This seemingly unremarkable blonde girl was the culprit behind the "Ya Zi-2" combat-powered armor falling into enemy hands. Although Lin Mo soon found the original pilot among the fourth squad, who was lying on a stretcher and unable to move, at least that guy still had half a life left after losing the powered armor. It could be said that he was lucky to escape a great disaster.

This talent made Lin Mo even more determined to bring the little girl back to the base, even if it meant having her do hard labor. Who knew how far she could grow? At least if she worked with Gold Coins, they might create some amazing sparks together.

As for age and gender, the Dragon Knight completely ignored those factors. He was set on hiring child labor since captives had no rights anyway.

“Hmm! What’s your name?” Lin Mo interrupted the little girl, who was ready to continue talking. When she got onto a topic she liked, she could go on forever—almost a common trait among technicians.

“Maisha Wright!”

The little girl remained easygoing, perhaps knowing that technicians were treated well no matter where they were. She didn’t care who she was a captive for, as long as she got food to eat and could do what she loved. After all, that was what all those people thought as well.

The name Wright derived from the Old English "wryhta," which means "worker," referring to craftsmen and builders. While Maisha means "goddess of war," the combination made for a very interesting name.

“Alright, Maisha. Go find a place to rest,” Lin Mo waved his hand, sending the little girl off to find a spot to relax. After all, sleeping outside under a blanket, that’s how everyone did it.

“I said, bad guy, you still haven’t told me your name!”

The high-tech girl, Maisha Wright, clearly wasn’t easily dismissed. She sensed that his casual attitude practically dismissed her as a child. Although there was no immediate danger, after being scared, she felt it necessary to assert that there were rightful debts to be settled.

“You can call me Morin, profession: Dragon Knight! My little princess!”

Lin Mo suddenly performed a noble gesture from the Su Lan Empire, smiling and turning to leave. The Dragon Knight, though a bit careless, was certainly not foolish. This girl was upset with him now, but he would still need her help in the future. It was easier to resolve any issues than to make enemies.

“Morin? Dragon Knight? What a bunch of nonsense, can you really ride a dragon?”

Maisha Wright wasn’t fooled at all. A high-IQ girl playing with high-tech wasn’t easily deceived. What dragons? Knights? This guy must think she was a naive little girl who hadn’t seen the world.

How infuriating!

After a long night on the road, the fourth squad and the accompanying Kurdish forces were exhausted, finally sleeping until dawn. The warm sunlight raised the temperature under various blankets, and those who had marched for two days gradually woke up.

At that moment, Omar, the leader of the outpost, was already smiling as he cooked a big pot of hot tea, meat soup, flatbread, and jerky, along with some precious canned goods, presumably for the welcoming of the long-distance guests.

Although the elemental energy of this world was difficult to harness, it was not impossible to assimilate, albeit with disgustingly low efficiency. However, Lin Mo spread his Battle Energy wide and used his affinity for light elements to trigger a resonance, allowing him to accumulate slowly but steadily.

Stretching lazily, Lin Mo heard a series of pops throughout his body and suddenly realized something was off. He smiled to himself; he still had the Dragon General tactical helmet on!

As he uncovered the blanket, he saw the Kurdish forces busily distributing food while the soldiers from the fourth squad orderly collected their rations. Even with guard personnel standing watch, they still held their food and steaming tea cups, weapons never leaving their sides.

However, Lin Mo soon spotted the little captive again. That little girl was squatting nearby, seemingly competing with the X-8 "monstrous," or rather, engaging with Gold Coin. She was pointing a handgun-like detector at a spot on the belly of the armor, while her laptop rested on her thigh, her fingers rapidly tapping away.

The Dragon Knight felt a wave of frustration; had he captured a captive or a disaster?

“Hey? You over there, what are you doing?”

After a night of sleep, the careless Dragon Knight had forgotten that little girl’s name.

“Shh! Don’t interrupt! I’m busy!”

The high-tech girl didn’t even turn around. Her slender fingers tapped on the keyboard like raindrops, hitting the keys with astonishing speed.

The X-8 "monstrous" suddenly seemed to respond to something, with several signal lights on its corners blinking. It appeared to react, and the girl cheered with delight.
