Dragon Rider Warplane

Chapter 789

Chapter 789: The Dragon Knight’s “Package Worker”

After a simple yet complex test flight, Lin Mo spent half a day readjusting the operational characteristics of the X-8 “monstrous” variable wings fighter jet after adding the repulsion shield.

Although the gold giant dragon had already mastered the ability to mass-produce the Ser engine, Lin Mo had no plans to modify the J-18 “Red Eagle” or the P-51 “Mustang.”

First, the airframe structures of these two fighter jets did not leave enough room for future upgrades like the “monstrous.” Any change would require a complete redesign, as it would affect everything from structure to balance and other mechanical data. The workload would be equivalent to rebuilding both fighter jets, and the repulsion shield had little significance for them, especially for the P-51, which made it even less cost-effective.

Old Pan, the Aircrew Group leader, was astonished by the remarkable performance of the “monstrous” upon returning from the mission. Lin Mo had struck gold again, acquiring treasures that were beyond imagination.

The anti-gravity field, a high-tech phenomenon existing only in top-level laboratories, had been applied to a fighter jet. No one could fathom how this incredible aircraft’s performance would skyrocket with an anti-gravity field.

The Night Aircrew was a combat unit, but it now felt like a laboratory focused on cutting-edge technology.

At this rate, even if a UFO appeared in the hangar unexpectedly, every member of the Aircrew Group might just consider it a normal occurrence. Lin Mo had brought them so many surprises that they had developed remarkably resilient nerves.

As for aliens, superpowers, or magic, did they really matter?

With advanced highly confidential technology not yet public, the line between the terms that sounded like myths and reality was becoming increasingly blurred.

Just like ancient humans believed that those who could fly were gods, buying a ticket to take a flight was now an effortless task for anyone with a stable income.

But did that make someone a deity? The answer was obviously no.

The continuous progress of civilization has offered scientific explanations for previously unexplainable phenomena, and humanity often finds itself looking back at what it once revered and now considers laughable.

The power of technology increasingly aligns with ancient myths, and perhaps the myths passed down through generations originate from a lost high-tech civilization.

Due to confidentiality, although everyone in the Aircrew Group was quite interested in the anti-gravity field, no one dared to ask Lin Mo about those technical secrets. Keeping quiet and seeing no evil were basic professional ethics.

Old Pan initially worried that such an artifact left in the hangar might attract thieves. Of course, any thief bold enough to try would not be a common burglar but someone highly trained, like a top agent. However, he quickly reassured himself.

Given the parameters and design of the fighter jet that Lin Mo had developed, it would be nearly impossible to steal.

Even left unguarded without locks, no one would risk becoming mush to challenge a death overload of 26G; just being in a 10G environment for too long could be fatal.

Once the repulsion shield was activated, the Ser engine could infinitely maintain that special variable anti-gravity field enveloping the entire fighter jet. Even the airflow field gaps around the intake weren’t ordinary unidirectional repulsion fields; even close-range fire from light weapons wouldn’t damage the aircraft.

Impossible to steal and impossible to damage, even if someone tried to take it by force, it would merely become an ultra-expensive ornament that attracted trouble. The technological safeguards against theft rendered the chances of stealing it virtually nonexistent. Weren’t they afraid of China sending a special forces team to silence them?

Many special tier pilots worldwide enjoyed advanced fighter jets custom-made for them by their countries or aircraft manufacturers as their exclusive air combat rides. Lin Mo unwittingly benefited from this privilege.

Lin Mo was almost becoming a public figure for the Aircrew Group and even the Night Special Forces.

Like many special tier pilots and their aircraft, the variable wings fighter jet Lin Mo crafted displayed distinct personal characteristics as his unique ride.

Conversely, Shenyang Aircraft Corporation felt quite frustrated. After all, they had lent Lin Mo an exceptionally advanced “Red Eagle” as a goodwill gesture to invest in future special tier pilots, only to see Lin Mo unexpectedly bring to life the fighter jet from the notorious blueprints, causing quite a stir in the industry. The data he obtained was not only astonishing but also shocking.

Thus, it was clear that the military high-ups were wise to have given Lin Mo those two sets of F119-PW-100 original engines, which could compel domestic aviation engine designers to break their heads over; it turned out they were timely used for the right purpose.

Although Lin Mo didn’t climb to the special tier group in the “Abyss Nirvana” competition, the record of defeating opponents at that level allowed the military to silently acknowledge his qualifications as a special tier pilot and recognize his right to an exclusive fighter jet.

In a death team battle comprised of 32 fighter jets, being able to down a true special tier or near special tier opponent from the sky demonstrated Lin Mo’s strength thoroughly.

Even though the prototype of the X-8 “monstrous” couldn’t easily leave the country, the hopes for the J-18 “Red Eagle” to take center stage had to be dashed, resigning it to a secondary role as a humble concubine.

After all, the lineup of the Dragon Knight’s harem was powerful, with three fighters of varying capabilities at his service, offering much greater options than those monogamous special tier pilots.

After adjusting the onboard operating system of the “monstrous,” Lin Mo casually copied a piece of source code and handed it to the blonde tech girl for further optimization.

This was Maisha’s first substantial task since joining the Night Special Forces. Although she wasn’t officially part of the Aircrew Group and didn’t work directly under Lin Mo, she delightfully accepted his task commission without rejecting it, as per their previous agreement.

After a short time of getting familiar with the Night’s work environment, this little girl proved to be incredibly talented in both hardware and software. Soon, she might be able to handle tasks all by herself.

In the past, Lin Mo and the gold giant dragon had to carve out time to adjust or compile system code. Now, they could rely on a more specialized person to delicately craft these professional tasks, saving both a dragon and a person a lot of effort.

The gold giant dragon also felt a sense of comfort from having someone working for him; this feeling of being a boss was truly delightful.

Lin Mo had no concerns about the source code coming back with tampering or bugs. The chance of any small issues slipping past the gold giant dragon’s simulation tests was nearly zero. What kind of virus could possibly evade an intelligent being’s scrutiny?

“‘Dragon Knight,’ I think we can segment the power output of some Ser units. After testing the trend parameters, we can add a power harmonic amplifier to enhance the force field’s response speed,” Maisha said after receiving Lin Mo’s assignment, carrying her gold giant dragon laptop to the Aircrew Group hangar to work on-site.

Being near the fighter jets and pilots made communication easier, which might spark some incredibly practical ideas.

Currently, the tasks assigned to Maisha by the Staff Group were relatively simple and wouldn’t occupy too much of her time. She finished them quickly, sending the results back and continuing to work diligently for the Dragon Knight.

“That’s a great idea. Please help me make a list so I can purchase everything at once,” Lin Mo said as he sat diagonally across from Maisha. They shared a large desk that was more than sufficient for both of them.

“Can I buy some supplies for myself?” Maisha Wright asked, hopeful as she carefully observed Lin Mo’s changing expressions.

Although she was technically a Chinese military employee, she still felt the lingering shadow of being a captive for a short time.

“If you specify the purpose and get approval, there shouldn’t be any problem,” Lin Mo replied without looking up, still focused on his tactical tablet, as if he had just mentioned something trivial.

The Dragon Knight himself was also a major purchasing force at the base, which made Maisha fortunate to ask the right person.

“Really?”

Maisha grew increasingly excited. Her former boss, the mercenary organization called “Kryptia,” hadn’t been so generous, and they had tightly monitored and restricted her for reasons unknown.

They provided her with no non-task-related materials apart from what was necessary for missions.

“It’s true. If you don’t have money to buy, I can pay the bill for you, but I must remind you, don’t exceed my budget!” Lin Mo finally looked up at Maisha and nodded to confirm what he had said.

“Yay! You’re such a good person! A really good person!”

The blonde little girl was so excited she danced around, as if she had just received amazing news. Her eyes sparkled with light; she had many wonderful ideas but lacked the material support to bring them to life. If she could get the supplies she wanted, she might be able to turn those fanciful notions into reality.

This was simply too interesting.

The teenage blonde girl always viewed her talents as a form of entertainment. With her interest and talent combined, her high intelligence seemed to create a nuclear fission effect, releasing immense energy that allowed her genius to shine beyond the ordinary.
