Dragon Rider Warplane

Chapter 810

Chapter 810: Monsters and Demons

This is America, the most powerful country in the world, the world police maintaining freedom and justice (it’s easy to understand the meaning of the Statue of Liberty holding a book in one hand and a torch in the other: if you dare to disobey the rules I hold, I’ll burn your house down).

Agent Charlie Mitchell from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) noticed Lin Mo’s dark expression and didn’t care at all. Behind his sunglasses, he wore a confident, lightly smiling face.

No secret can remain hidden forever, and no paper can contain fire. Americans had already discovered Lin Mo’s dual identity as both an aviation expert and a top pilot, and this overlap of identities was not surprising. The father of energy combat techniques, John Boyd, shared the same status.

With a few significant actions that captured the attention of various factions, Lin Mo’s identity was already on file with the U.S. Military.

No matter how powerful a warrior is, they need suitable weapons to pose a threat; otherwise, they are only slightly stronger than an ordinary civilian. The Americans foolishly thought Lin Mo was merely an ace pilot, even though his strength matched that of a special tier pilot, but only posed a threat in the air.

If he was on the ground, rather than treating the situation as if they were facing a formidable enemy, it would be wiser to send more personnel to watch over those more dangerous individuals.

Unless Lin Mo and his fighter jet appeared in U.S. airspace, the CIA would, at most, maintain appropriate vigilance, and even the Pentagon had little interest in monitoring him.

“Brother, what is he saying?”

Yang Shanshan looked curiously at the man in sunglasses and Lin Mo, her face showing confusion.

Her limited English skills did not lie; she couldn’t understand a thing.

Lin Mo turned to his sister and said, “It’s fine; he’s our driver!”

Working in intelligence, agents often linger around, and the Dragon Knight particularly understood this. Here, in American territory, if it were back home, Lin Mo would have beaten the man without hesitation.

Lin Mo’s expression was dark, but he did not show any intention to resort to violence.

Well, the CIA had won!

No wonder Charlie Mitchell stood confidently in front of this killing machine, showing no signs of fear.

“Driver?”

Yang Shanshan couldn’t help but widen her eyes, surprised that Lin Mo had even arranged for someone to pick them up upon arriving in Washington. “Why didn’t you tell me on the way?”

“Hello! Ms. Shanshan! I’m here to pick you up!”

Once Charlie Mitchell spoke, Lin Mo’s face darkened even further. This guy was a complete expert on China, speaking fluent, standard Mandarin, making it impossible to tell whether he was American or Chinese.

This guy had effortlessly taken advantage of the situation and latched onto Lin Mo.

“Wow! He can speak Chinese! Brother, your arrangements are just perfect, haha! I don’t have to worry about the language barrier anymore.”

Yang Shanshan was delighted to hear that he could speak Mandarin. What was initially the most troublesome language barrier turned out to be her stroke of luck upon arriving in America.

Having never encountered the darker side of the world, she never imagined that the person standing in front of her was like something out of a 007 movie; otherwise, she would have surely dropped her jaw in shock.

For a professional agent, mastering two to three foreign languages is almost a requirement, so finding an American who speaks Chinese is nothing unusual.

This silly sister truly perplexed the Dragon Knight. CIA agents are not like the security guards at the neighborhood police station; they have the capability to make a regular citizen disappear without a trace.

As for Yang Shanshan, given the CIA’s intelligence capabilities, they had probably already investigated her thoroughly. They wouldn’t bother ordinary civilians—it’s neither worthwhile nor meaningful.

“Right! Driver!”

Lin Mo shot a fierce glare at the thick-skinned CIA agent and said menacingly, “Where’s your car? Hurry up and bring it over to carry the luggage.”

Since he walked right up to them, it was a perfect opportunity for some manual labor.

“Sure thing, Mr. Morin! My colleagues Loper Stark and Uda Gates asked me to send their regards!”

Charlie Mitchell still calmly bowed slightly, as if he truly were the person Lin Mo had arranged to meet at Washington Airport.

Yang Shanshan was an unrelated civilian who could immediately tell that her English was not great, yet the CIA agent continued to speak to Lin Mo in English as if it were natural.

“Loper Stark? Uda Gates? Who are they?”

Lin Mo had long forgotten about the agents who had been attacked alongside him on the way from Las Vegas to Los Angeles during his last visit to America.

He and the agent shared an unspoken understanding, communicating in English about matters that were not suitable for Yang Shanshan to know.

Yang Shanshan, who had just been pleasantly surprised, now looked confused again. Why were these two only talking to each other and not considering her feelings?

“Ha ha, those were agents who accompanied you from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. If you hadn’t called for help in time, they might really have met their end. Their families are very grateful to you. If you have time, Loper Stark and Uda Gates would like to invite you to their home.”

Charlie Mitchell wore a sincere expression, showing no signs of insincerity, as if he were genuinely extending a heartfelt invitation.

Americans value every life, especially their own. They even consider surrendering in hopeless situations to be an act of heroism. Even if police from violent departments take action, the government grants every officer extensive self-protection rights, including shooting suspects on the spot to ensure their own safety.

If such rules were applied in China, the number of innocent civilians mistakenly killed by police during investigations would likely increase a million-fold each year. American cops truly do shoot first and ask questions later, unlike local Chinese police who can still talk things out for a bit.

Lin Mo saved two CIA agents, and regardless of whether the CIA would acknowledge this favor, those agents would certainly be thankful.

“Let’s see if I have time!”

Lin Mo’s expression softened slightly; at least the agents were not here to create trouble.

“Thank you! You can call me Charlie!”

Charlie Mitchell nodded with a smile as he guided Lin Mo and Yang Shanshan through customs while speaking into the communication earpiece he wore.

Yang Shanshan glanced at Charlie Mitchell in surprise. Could he be from a professional airport service? His service was so professional!

Before long, they reached the airport lobby’s exit, where a black business van with a government license plate was parked. It seemed the CIA had sent not just Charlie Mitchell but also a partner.

“Please get in, beautiful lady!”

Charlie Mitchell opened the door for Yang Shanshan and then turned to introduce his partner and driver, a muscular man with a bald head and a fierce-looking face.

“This is my partner, Ivan Carter. Don’t let his tough appearance fool you; he’s actually a very kind man. We all call him ‘Black Dragon’! Hey, buddy, this is our guest, Mr. Morin. His name truly fits our Western taste.”

“Hi! Nice to meet you!”

The not-so-black “Black Dragon,” Ivan Carter, grinned at Lin Mo, flashing a friendly smile. He greeted him with a deep, booming voice. His bright white teeth included a shiny silver cap, and he wore a neck chain that resembled a dog collar. Clad in a tank top, his muscular physique would probably look more intimidating than a street thug.

The contrast between Charlie Mitchell, dressed in a formal suit and dark sunglasses like a SWAT agent, and this fearsome-looking partner was stark enough to take Yang Shanshan by surprise, prompting her to cautiously sneak into the back seat of the business van.

“Hello!”

Lin Mo showed no signs of surprise. He was already used to various muscular men and felt visually fatigued by them.

The airport staff following them did not waste the dollar bills Lin Mo had given them. They expertly parked the electric cart beside the business van and took care of the luggage without hesitation.

Perhaps having previously worked in air cargo packing, they handled the items inside the van with care, making sure everything was stacked securely without wasting an inch of space, ensuring the passengers did not feel crowded at all.

“Hi, all set! Thank you, sir!”

The airport staff happily patted their pockets, satisfied with their extra earnings, and bowed slightly to Lin Mo.

The CIA had no authority over ordinary citizens; Americans were not afraid of government agents at all.

“Shanshan, you should head to your school first!”

After getting into the car with Charlie, Lin Mo turned to his sister sitting in the back seat.

“Okay, thank you, brother!”

Yang Shanshan smiled sweetly and quickly pulled a note from her bag and handed it to Lin Mo.

“Please take her to this location first; I need to drop her off at school!”

Lin Mo didn’t reveal his relationship with Yang Shanshan. He casually passed the note to the agent. They were more familiar with the area than a taxi driver would be.

“Sure thing, Mr. Morin!”

Charlie Mitchell and Ivan Carter’s task was to monitor Lin Mo’s activities after entering the country and wouldn’t hinder his freedom of movement. Whether to follow closely or discreetly was up to them, as long as they reported any surveillance information to their superiors.

“Black Dragon” Ivan Carter took the note handed to him by his partner, glanced at it, and said, “No problem! I have a cousin studying there; I know the area well!”

Just as Lin Mo had suspected, having a local guide was indeed beneficial.

Ivan Carter was about to drive when he suddenly heard Lin Mo say, “Wait a moment!”

What’s wrong? Charlie looked at Lin Mo with confusion, but heard him continue, “Is that car behind us one of yours?”

Ivan Carter looked at the rearview mirror, seemingly indifferent, and said, “Not our people, nor government employees. They are from Boeing!” It was clear he already knew that if they were oblivious to other forces tailing them, the CIA’s reputation would be in shambles.

“People from Boeing?”

Lin Mo frowned. He had just arrived in America, and already various forces were appearing. He pushed open the door of the business van and jumped out. “Wait for me; I’ll be back soon!” Without waiting for a response, he walked toward the back of the van.
