I Helped My Boyfriend Get Rich

Chapter 1

On the small bedside table next to the single bed, there was an eighty percent new alarm clock. It rang at six o 'clock sharp, and the crisp sound of the alarm rang in the small room, making people feel anxious and confused.

But the girl sleeping on the single bed didn't seem to hear it. She was still lying on her side, and her hair was messy behind her head, blocking her face from being seen clearly.

Three minutes later, the alarm still didn't seem like it was going to stop.

Tian Fang was puzzled and a little worried. She gently opened the door and walked in. Who else could it be other than her daughter?

Tian Fang sighed and wiped her hands on her apron until the oil on her hands wasn't so sticky anymore. Then, she reached out to turn off the alarm clock. The person on the bed still didn't notice.

Tian Fang just thought that her daughter was lazing in bed, so she didn't think much of it. She reached out to tug at the blanket and scolded her in a voice that was neither loud nor soft, "Tao Yin, what time is it now? If you don't get up, breakfast will be cold!"

There was still no movement from under the blanket. Tian Fang was about to reach out to pull Tao Yin's arm when a muffled and hoarse voice came from under the blanket.

"I, I'll get up now. You go do your work."

Tian Fang heard her speak, then retracted her hand and walked to the door, scolding her in a low voice.

"Oh right," Tian Fang walked to the door, then turned back and said, "Don't set the alarm in the future. It's too loud and noisy. What if you wake up Master, Madam, or Miss?" Tian Fang frowned and didn't say anything else. She thought that Tao Yin should know the consequences.

With their status, they weren't masters who could do whatever they wanted in this house.

Click. The door was gently closed. Tao Yin lifted the blanket and sat on the bed in a daze. A seventeen or eighteen-year-old girl was sitting on the plastic chair opposite him. Her body was translucent, her head was lowered, and her shoulders were shaking. Occasionally, he could hear her sobbing.

Tao Yin rubbed his temples tiredly and looked at the girl.

"You …" Tao Yin said hesitantly.

At this moment, the girl raised her head and looked over. Her eyes were filled with tears, making her delicate and pretty face look even more delicate. The crisscrossing tears on her face didn't ruin her beauty. Instead, it added a trace of a young girl's inexperience and weakness.

Her sobbing posture could indeed capture the sympathy of many people.

Tao Yin raised his hand and touched his face. The girl actually smiled. The angle of the smile was not too obvious, but it was completely different from the sadness before.

She was surrounded by a circle's light, and the light's's's's light.'s's's's light, the girl's's's's's.

He fell seriously ill and became a vegetable. Since then, his soul had been separated from his body, but he couldn't leave from the ceiling. Every day, he could only look down at her pale body on the sickbed. He couldn't speak, and others couldn't see him.

Suddenly, one day, the sun was shining brightly outside. In her drowsy state, she heard a cold voice.

She could survive, but she needed to borrow someone else's body in another time and space.

Furthermore, she had to fulfill the wishes of the original body. Otherwise, her soul would still be stripped away.

Tao Yin wanted to have a fresh body. Completing the original owner's wish was just a form of payment for renting her body. As long as it wasn't too harsh, she didn't mind doing it.

However, Tao Yin wasn't in a hurry to agree. She leaned over to look at her closed eyes and asked the unknown voice.

"Can I return to my original body?"

He waited for a long time, but he didn't get an answer.

Alright.

Tao Yin closed her eyes. She was in a daze. In her dream, the light and shadow were mixed, so when the alarm rang, she wasn't awake yet.

Tao Yin, like her name, even her face was eighty percent similar. But now, she was younger. She looked like a seventeen year old.

While taking the mirror from the cabinet, he glanced at the chair that the girl had just sat on.

The owner of this villa was surnamed Bai, but her surname was Tao. She was the daughter of the Bai Family's maid, Tian Fang.

When Tian Fang was thirty years old, her husband died in a car accident. She didn't have any education. Before, she worked as a maid in the Bai Family. She left early and returned late.

Now that her husband was dead, her salary couldn't afford the rent, utilities, and the cost of raising her daughter. In the long run, the family's' meager's' savings would run out sooner or later.

Fortunately, the Bai Family's' Madam, Pang Min, didn't mind and was willing to provide her with accommodation. Since then, Tian Fang lived with her daughter, Tao Yin, in the Bai Family's' house.

Although the room was simple and crude, it couldn't erase the fact that she lived in the Bai Family's villa.

Bai Min's daughter was the same age as Tao Yin. She didn't like her since she was young.

"Your mother is our family's maid. It doesn't matter if we give her a room to live in. But you freeload in our house and live in my room. What right do you have?" This sentence was deeply imprinted in Tao Yin's heart.

She lived in a small grocery store. Tian Fang tidied it up for her to live in. She had asked Bai Min before and received his approval.

Faced with Bai Manxi's accusation, Tian Fang, who was in her thirties, felt helpless. She immediately asked Tao Yin to apologize. Then, she took Tao Yin to pack up and move to her room.

Tian Fang took her daughter's hand and explained to her: "In the future, you and mom will live in the same room. Tomorrow, I'll ask the Madam if we can draw a curtain in the middle to separate two small rooms."

Tao Yin didn't ask why. She nodded obediently.

Tian Fang then said: "In the future, don't argue with Miss. You just listen to what she says. It's not easy for mom to work here. If Miss asks you to do something within your ability, you just do it for mom, okay?"

Tian Fang's palm was rough and dry, but it was the only warmth that the young Tao Yin could feel. So, she tightly grasped it.

Bai Manxi ordered her to do this and sat there. She ridiculed her. She accepted it one by one and endured it.

Looking at Tian Fang's satisfied expression, she swallowed the grievances that were about to come out of her mouth and silently endured the humiliation.

Tao Yin waited for her head to stop hurting so much before she lifted the quilt and got up. She couldn't ignore the dry pain in her throat. She reached for the glass of water beside her. There was still half a glass of transparent liquid left over from last night.

She put sleeping pills in it. From then on, she really didn't have to feel wronged anymore. She didn't have to suppress her grievances and let others trample on her self-esteem.

She was really childish. Even after receiving the body of the original, Tao Yin couldn't help but sigh. Silly child, what's the use of you dying?

The pain of the past was still there. Perhaps after death, she would still have to accept other people's ridicule and supercilious looks. Her soul wouldn't be able to rest in peace.

Tao Yin closed her eyes and thought about it. Regarding the death of the original, Bai Manxi didn't have a single bit of regret. She even said in front of her classmates that the original had dirtied the door of the Bai Family and brought bad luck.

Tao Yin opened the drawer and found a suicide note left behind by the original owner of the body. She wrote down her inner struggle in detail. She didn't want to leave her mother behind, but she had had enough of other people's taunts and ridicule over the years.

But after her death, this suicide note didn't have any effect on Bai Manxi. Tian Fang tore it up.

The original's last wish was very simple. She wanted to leave this sad place. As for her mother, Tian Fang's act of tearing up the suicide note left a deep wound in the original's heart.

If her mother was willing, she would take her away and start a new life. If she wasn't willing, then forget it.

Tao Yin pursed her lips and agreed.

After Tao Yin finished washing up, she went to the kitchen. Tian Fang had fried white bread for her in the pot. Tian Fang had put sugar water in it when she kneaded the dough. It was sweet with just one bite. Tao Yin held the bread and poured a cup of hot water before walking to the room. The second floor was where the master of the Bai Family lived. It was very quiet.

Bai Manxi had a driver to take her to school. Naturally, she didn't have to get up so early.

Tao Yin ate the biscuit in small bites and drank a mouthful of hot tea. She finally had a feeling of coming back to life. She was no longer a wandering ghost, but a real and lively life.

After two or three minutes, Tao Yin cleaned up the bread in her hands. Then she went to the kitchen and turned on some water to wash the dishes.

"Mom, I'm going to school," Tao Yin whispered to Tian Fang with her backpack on her back.

"Okay," Tian Fang responded without looking up. Her eyes were only on the unfinished sandwich in her hands.

Tao Yin touched the tassels hanging on her backpack and walked to the door of the villa. Her bicycle was parked there. Every day, she rode this bicycle to and from school. It took nearly an hour to go back and forth. She never complained to Tian Fang.

Tao Yin squatted down and was about to open the chain lock on the back wheel. She took a glance and then stood up and walked back to the villa.

The rear tire was flat. There was a long crack near the seat. The tire had been slashed.

As soon as Tao Yin raised her head, she saw the surveillance camera facing her. She smiled at the camera before quickly lowering her eyes.

She didn't want to scratch the two million-yuan luxury cars in front of the villa. She just had to destroy the second-hand bicycle she bought for a hundred yuan. And she did it in a place where the surveillance camera could see.

Did this person not know what was good for him or did he have no brains, or was he too unscrupulous?

Tian Fang was surprised to see Tao Yin come back. She pulled her to the side and looked at the Bai family who were eating breakfast. She whispered, "Why didn't you go to school? Why did you come back?"

Tao Yin didn't look at her and said slowly, "Mom, my bicycle's tire was slashed. I can't ride it."

"Hmph." A very small snicker came from the dining table. Pang Min glanced at Bai Manxi and didn't say anything.

Tao Yin didn't seem to notice at all. She said anxiously, "Mom, why don't we call the police? My bicycle was slashed maliciously!"

Bai Manxi, who was snickering at the dining table, trembled slightly. Her fork fell onto the plate. The crisp sound of the fork hitting Tian Fang's heart.

Tian Fang pulled Tao Yin's arm and scolded her, "What nonsense are you talking about? Why call the police? Hurry up and go to school. I'll give you some money. You can take a taxi to school." Tian Fang smiled at the three people at the table and turned to go to the room to get money.

Bai Manxi was surprised when she heard Tao Yin say that she wanted to call the police. She thought that the girl who kept the fire had grown courage. Now, she glanced over and saw that Tao Yin's shoulders were slightly hunched and her head was hanging down. She looked exactly like her usual cowardly self.

She pulled the corners of her mouth, threw the knife and fork in her hand, and lazily leaned back in the chair.

"Tao Yin, this is a villa area. Do you think you're in the countryside? Who would find trouble to scratch your broken bicycle?"

Bai Manxi's delicate face was full of ridicule. She crossed her arms over her chest, as if Tao Yin was something shameful. She didn't even bother to look at her.
