Married to the Male Lead's Brother

Chapter 60

Ningzhi agreed to take Lu Jue to see his grandmother off.

The youth was still wearing red pajamas. Ningzhi realized that Lu Jue had come down barefooted.

He was obviously in a hurry.

"Go change your clothes and put on your shoes." Ningzhi took his hand and led him upstairs.

Lu Jue obediently followed beside Ningzhi. He looked up at her and only her.

The youth was like a newborn cub, learning about the world bit by bit from Ningzhi.

Lu Jue wasn't suited to wear red when he saw his grandmother off.

However, other than red clothes, Lu Jue only had his school uniform left in his closet. She had no choice but to let him change into the blue and white school uniform.

"Lower your head." Ningzhi stood in front of Lu Jue.

Compared to the last time they met, the youth who had graduated from high school had grown a lot. She needed to raise her head to look at him.

His young and inexperienced brows were tightly knitted with unhappiness and sadness. His pair of beautiful eyes quietly looked at her, revealing a sense of loss.

Ningzhi's lips curved. She reached out to smooth out the fringe on his forehead. "Don't worry. I'm here."

She was the one who pulled Lu Jue out of his closed shell. She would protect him.

The butler prepared to go to the funeral site. He still had to take care of the follow-up work. Just as he was about to get into the car, he saw Lu Jue walking over.

"Second Young Master." He wondered why Lu Jue had come out.

Lu Jue didn't respond. He walked to the car and opened the door to get in.

"Second Young Master, where are you going?" The butler wanted to stop him.

Lu Jue lowered his head.

"Tell the butler that you're going to see your grandmother." Ningzhi stood to the side and guided Lu Jue.

The butler looked at the time and said, "Young Master, I have urgent matters to attend to. Shall I get someone to send you back to your room?"

Lu Jue lowered his head and didn't move. He slowly said, "Grandma will go take a look."

The butler was a little surprised. "Young Master, you want to send the old lady off?"

Ningzhi whispered in his ear, "Tell him you want to go."

Lu Jue stubbornly repeated, "Grandma wants to see it, I want to see it."

The housekeeper looked at Lu Jue with a complicated expression. He knew that Madam and Sir had just left the Lu residence without bringing along Master Lu Jue.

Firstly, there were many guests at the funeral, and the young master's situation was special, so it was inconvenient. Secondly, the old lady had passed away beside Master Lu Jue. The old lady's relatives were estranged, and even the madam could not accept this fact for the time being.

"Young Master, are you really …" The butler hesitated. The old lady loved her grandson very much when she was alive. Young Master didn't understand emotions, or rather, he was slow to react to emotions, but he wasn't emotionless.

Master Lu Jue wanted to send the old lady off as well.

The butler pondered for a moment before saying, "Young Master, get in the car." If Sir and Madam were to blame him, he would take responsibility.

Lu Jue pursed his lips and got into the car.

Ningzhi sat beside him. "We'll be able to send grandma off soon."

Lu Jue was still running a fever. His pale face was a little red, and even his thin lips were red from the fever. His dark eyes looked at Ningzhi quietly, full of attachment.

There were many guests at the funeral, not only for the sake of the Song Family, but also for the sake of the Lu Family.

Mother Lu and Song Ya were the second in the Song Family. They had an elder brother, Song Jinye, and a younger sister, Song Rou. Because of their mother's sudden death, all three of them were in grief, and their eyes were red and swollen.

Father Lu was by his wife's side the entire time. He recalled what the helper had said in the morning about his son's illness. He was a little worried and called Dr. Jin. After confirming that it was a fever caused by the flu, he instructed Dr. Jin to keep him updated on Lu Jue's condition.
