My Master Breaks Through Only at the Last Moment
Chapter 1518
Chapter 1518: The Corpse
“Because of a fool’s failed scheme, the whole house got turned upside down,” Xu Fan said, feeling a bit frustrated.
According to his calculations, if he hadn’t gone to watch the commotion, the Holy Lord might have actually succeeded.
“What level of existence crafted that bell?” Xu Fan wondered silently.
“Husband, does this mean we’ll be wandering in the Primordial Chaos Zone from now on?” Zhang Weiyun asked.
“Pretty much, but as long as we’re in the Three Thousand Realms, it won’t make much of a difference,” Xu Fan said with a chuckle.
In the underground space, Xu Fan saw avatar number one and avatar number two chatting animatedly.
“I never thought my undercover career would end like this. All the backup plans I set up just went down the drain,” avatar number one sighed.
“The real shame is that number one didn’t get to see the moment when all his schemes came to fruition,” avatar number two said with a grin.
“It’s fine. The Three Thousand Realms are now moving toward the Chaotic Mist Area, and there aren’t any urgent artifact crafting tasks here.”
“So I’ve decided to give you both a break—a thousand feet of supreme law crystal and fifty million feet of Primordial Purple Qi crystal. Take a long vacation and enjoy yourselves in the Chaotic Mist Area,” Xu Fan said with a smile.
Hearing this, avatars one and two looked at Xu Fan as if he were a ghost.
“You haven’t been possessed by the system, have you?” avatar number one asked suspiciously.
“Don’t say that. Even the main body has moments of clarity, though they’re rare,” avatar number two added.
Xu Fan waved his hand and tossed a Space-type Spiritual Treasure to avatar number two, which contained the supreme law crystal and Primordial Purple Qi crystal he had just mentioned.
“You’ve both worked hard, so take this time to relax.”
“Also, try to establish yourselves over there. To help the Three Thousand Realms reach the Chaotic Mist Area faster, I’ll need your help,” Xu Fan said.
“How long are we talking?” avatar number one asked, eyeing the Spiritual Treasure in avatar number two’s hands with a hint of regret.
“Let’s start with 1,000 years. By then, you should have had your fill of fun and can get back to work,” Xu Fan said with a slight smile.
In an instant, a massive star map appeared in the underground space.
A bright point on the star map transformed into a star gate.
“Go ahead,” Xu Fan said, gesturing toward the gate.
“Main body, all your past oppressions are hereby forgiven!” avatar number two declared, and with that, he and avatar number one stepped through the star gate.
By the Lake of Life on the life-star, Wang Yulun was fishing as usual.
A group of children played happily nearby.
“Uncle Xu!”
When the kids saw Xu Fan approaching, they ran over to him.
Wang Yulun, who was fishing, glanced up at Xu Fan as if to say, “Impressive, right? These are all mine.”
Looking at the children gathered around him, Xu Fan picked up the cutest little girl.
In his hands, he held several Xuanhuang Supreme Treasures, one for each child.
“What’s your name?”
“Uncle Xu, I’m Wang Yiyi! My mother’s name is Little Qing,” the adorable little girl with big eyes replied.
“I can sense a chaotic sword intent growing within you,” Xu Fan said, producing a small sword from his hand, perfectly sized for the Little Girl to grasp.
“This is for you. Train hard and aim to surpass even your mother’s strength,” Xu Fan gently placed the Little Girl down.
“No, I want to be as strong as Uncle Xu!” the Little Girl declared, raising the short sword with a determined voice.
“Yes! We all want to be as strong as Uncle Xu!” the other children echoed enthusiastically.
“Good, then you’ll all need to put in the effort!”
After handling the group of children, Xu Fan took a seat beside Wang Yulun.
“Another batch? Is it true love this time?” Xu Fan joked with a grin.
“Not exactly. Some of my confidantes who didn’t have children back then realized over the years that having a child might be nice, so they dragged me into it,” Wang Yulun explained casually.
“You…” Xu Fan was momentarily at a loss for words.
After a pause, all he could muster was three words:
“What a stud!”
Wang Yulun glanced at Xu Fan, a faint, almost imperceptible smile playing on his lips.
“Big Brother Xu, are you jealous?”
“Maybe a little.”
“I came to ask if you’d like to bring your confidantes to the Chaotic Mist Area ahead of time.”
“Staying in the Three Thousand Realms isn’t all that exciting anymore,” Xu Fan replied.
Though the Three Thousand Realms had expanded significantly, it was more than enough for Great Saints and those of similar stature.
But for chaotic saints and Great Saints of Chaos, it felt somewhat limiting.
Being confined to this space for too long could start to weigh on their hearts (of cultivators).
Just then, the fishing line suddenly tightened, and Wang Yulun calmly began reeling it in.
What emerged was a corpse with the head of a human and the body of a horse.
Though lifeless, the body radiated an immense pressure, distorting the very fabric of the life-star around them.
“A Holy Lord-level corpse?” Xu Fan said after a moment of observation.
Wang Yulun, too, was visibly taken aback.
“This is the first time I’ve ever caught a corpse. How unlucky,” Wang Yulun muttered, his brow slightly furrowed.
Xu Fan examined the Holy Lord’s corpse closely, but aside from the clothes it wore, there was nothing else to be found.
“Big Brother Xu, is this corpse of any use?” Wang Yulun asked.
“Certainly, but I’m more curious about how he died. It’s as if all traces of his existence were wiped out in an instant, leaving only the body behind.”
A faint spiritual light enveloped the human-headed, horse-bodied corpse, probing its secrets.
“This corpse is in its peak condition—very unusual.”
“But it’s incredibly valuable. Just by using it as an energy core in the 36 Zodiac Star Formation, it could increase the speed of the Three Thousand Realms by a thousandfold,” Xu Fan remarked.
“Could it help Xingci gain a new subordinate?” Wang Yulun inquired.
“It’s uncontrollable. Even if we turned it into a puppet, it would only be able to wield the power of a Great Saint of Chaos,” Xu Fan explained.
“Isn’t the power of a Great Saint of Chaos enough? A hundred years as an energy source, and it could also serve as second brother’s puppet.”
Hearing this, Xu Fan was momentarily stunned, then burst into laughter.
“Let Xingci take it back and study it at his own pace,” Xu Fan said, summoning Li Xingci over.
“This is a Holy Lord-level corpse that Elder Wang caught. Take it back and see if you can turn it into a puppet,” Xu Fan instructed.
“Understood, Master,” Li Xingci replied, then turned to Wang Yulun.
“Thank you, Elder Wang.”
Hearing his second brother’s gratitude, Wang Yulun felt as though his heart had been drenched in honey, sweet and warm.
“We’re all family here—no need for such formalities!” Wang Yulun said with a smile.
With that, Li Xingci stored the Holy Lord’s corpse and departed.
“See, Big Brother Xu? I said we’re family, and second brother didn’t object.”
