Song Yuan

Chapter 17

Xu Zhizhou woke up early in the morning and finished running around the neighborhood. He was sitting at the table eating breakfast when he heard the doorbell ring. The housekeeper went to open the door. "Miss Song, you're here?

Have you had breakfast? "

A sweet voice followed. "No, Auntie. Is Brother Zhizhou here?"

"Yes, he's having breakfast!

Do you want me to get you a bowl of porridge? "

"Okay, thank you, Auntie."

Xu Zhizhou looked up again and saw a little girl in front of him. Well, she didn't come out with a messy hairstyle today.

"Good morning, Brother," Song Xuan said to Xu Zhizhou with a sweet smile.

"Mm," Xu Zhizhou responded. Then he asked her, "Why aren't you eating?"

"Oh, … Because I want to see Big Brother as soon as possible!" The little guy's mouth was full of sweet nothings as he giggled.

Xu Zhizhou coughed lightly. His ears were slightly red. He whispered, "It's not good for your health if you don't eat breakfast. Don't do this in the future."

Song Xuan nodded obediently. "Okay."

After breakfast, Xu Zhizhou went to the study to do the Mathematical Olympiad questions he found online. Song Xuan sat next to him and didn't disturb him. She took a few pieces of white paper and scribbled.

The two of them did their own things and didn't speak. However, the air was filled with a warm atmosphere.

After Xu Zhizhou finished the questions, he realized that the person sitting next to him was gone. He turned around and saw this scene. He couldn't help but laugh.

In the corner of the bookshelf, there was a single sofa. Usually, no one sat there. Now, there was a little girl curled up and sleeping soundly. Because the space was a little small, she looked aggrieved.

Xu Zhizhou walked over gently. He took a closer look and chuckled. He saw that the little girl was holding an English novel tightly under the pillow. Perhaps she was too bored, so she used it as a pillow to cover her head.

Xu Zhizhou crouched down and touched the little girl's hand. It was a little cold. He slowly took the book out of her hand and lifted her up effortlessly. Perhaps because he disturbed her, the little girl groaned and called out in a daze, "Brother." Xu Zhizhou was at a loss for a moment and froze in place.

Then, the little girl rubbed against his chest like a kitten and fell asleep peacefully.

Xu Zhizhou carried her to the guest room and carefully put her down. He covered her with the quilt and then turned to leave.

At noon, Papa Xu and Mama Xu called home, saying that they had a last-minute dinner appointment and wouldn't be home for lunch. They asked the auntie to make something for him.

Xu Zhizhou was sitting in the living room reading a book. The auntie had finished preparing lunch and came over to call Xu Zhizhou to eat. He agreed.

Then, he raised his head and looked at the direction of the stairs. He sat and waited for a long time, but there was still no movement upstairs.

Sighing helplessly, he could only go up and wake a certain lazy pig up.

As soon as he opened the door, he saw that the person on the bed had fallen asleep. The quilt that covered her was gone.

Xu Zhizhou frowned. He didn't turn the air conditioner up high just now. He didn't know if she would catch a cold.

"Song Xuan, wake up."

Song Xuan opened her eyes in a daze. "… Zhizhou Brother?" Her voice was still hoarse from just waking up. Her hand naturally reached out to Xu Zhizhou.

Xu Zhizhou thought that she wanted him to pull her up, so he extended his hand. The little guy took an inch and wanted a mile. Her whole body was on top of him, and her two thin and weak arms were tightly hugging his waist.

Xu Zhizhou's body froze in an instant.

After a while, he gently stroked her hair and asked gently, "Are you hungry?

Get up and eat? "

The person in his arms shook her head. "I don't want to eat."

Xu Zhizhou said gently, "What's wrong?

Are you not feeling well? "

The little girl sniffled and sounded aggrieved. "I don't know ~ ~"

Xu Zhizhou was really worried this time. Anxiety flashed in his eyes. He lifted Song Xuan's fringe and tested her temperature. "Do you have a cold?

Or a fever?

Brother will take you to the hospital, okay? "

The little girl looked up at Xu Zhizhou pitifully. "Brother ~" Xu Zhizhou's heart softened when she called him that. His voice was even gentler as he replied, "Brother is here!"

Then he heard her say, "I want to drink milk. I want strawberry flavored ~"

Xu Zhizhou: "…" So you've been whining for half a day and making me so worried because you want to drink a bottle of milk???

He directly tore her off his body and threw her onto the bed. He turned and walked towards the door. The next second, he stopped in his tracks. He sighed inwardly and turned back.

Sure enough, the little girl was already sitting on the bed and looking at him with tears in her eyes.

Xu Zhizhou scolded himself in his heart. He went forward and hugged the little girl in his arms. He comforted her gently. "Let's eat first. Then I'll take you out to buy milk, okay?"

It wasn't that there wasn't any milk at home … but there wasn't any strawberry flavored milk …

The little girl's temper when she woke up was really strange. She didn't make a fuss. She just looked at him with teary eyes, making it impossible for him to be cruel and leave her alone.

Song Xuan nodded obediently. "Okay."

Xu Zhizhou ran hot water for her to wipe her face. It was as if he had returned to the time when he took care of her meticulously when she was young. He soaked the towel, wrung it dry, and handed it to her. By the time he realized that something was wrong, this series of actions had already been completed.

Song Xuan didn't feel anything. She stretched out her hands and obediently took the towel. She casually wiped her face twice and threw the towel into a small basin.

Xu Zhizhou's eyebrows twitched. He said in a low voice, "You didn't wipe it clean. Wipe it again!"

The little girl pouted. It was obvious that she didn't want to do as she was told.

Xu Zhizhou had no choice but to wring out the towel himself. "Raise your face." Then he gently and meticulously wiped her face again.

Song Xuan's face was buried in the towel. Her voice was muffled as she called out, "Brother."

"Yes?"

He took the towel off her face and looked at her steadily, as if asking her what she wanted.

Song Xuan pursed her lips and smiled. She said softly, "Nothing, I just wanted to call you …"

Xu Zhizhou felt that he had been worn down by her until he didn't have any temper left.

After a long time, they finally had lunch.

During the meal, the little girl wasn't obedient. She pushed the carrots and green peppers to the side and only ate the dishes she liked. Even then, she ate slowly. Her chopsticks poked at the bowl, and it took her a long time to stuff a few grains of rice into her mouth.

Xu Zhizhou frowned. He knocked on the table and said in a serious voice, "Eat properly."

The little girl secretly looked up at him and then looked again. Perhaps because she saw his stern face, she reluctantly stuffed a big mouthful of rice into her mouth and chewed like a little hamster.

Xu Zhizhou's brows were still furrowed. "I told you to eat properly. I didn't tell you to stuff so much …" Before he could finish speaking, the little girl slammed her chopsticks on the table. There was still rice in her mouth. Her voice was a little muffled, but he could still hear the anger in her voice. "Then I won't eat."

Xu Zhizhou's face darkened. He didn't know how the obedient little girl in his memory had become so arrogant and willful. He definitely couldn't spoil her anymore.

"Okay, then don't eat. Don't eat tonight either!"

She protested. "Didn't you say that you were going to buy milk later?"

Xu Zhizhou seemed to have suddenly remembered something and said, "Oh." Under the expectant gaze of the opposite party, he said ruthlessly, "You're disobedient again. I won't buy milk."

The little girl's face immediately changed. Her beautiful brown eyes widened and were full of anger. She seemed to want to get angry but didn't dare. She only said in a small voice, "You don't keep your word. Big liar!"

Xu Zhizhou was so angry that he laughed. "Who's the big liar? You clearly promised to eat properly just now. What about now?"

Song Xuan lowered his head guiltily and didn't dare to say anything. He quietly moved the stool and silently ran to the living room.

After dinner, Xu Zhizhou took the dishes to the kitchen. He ignored the angry little girl who was nestled on the sofa and went straight upstairs.

When he arrived at the study, he saw a few pieces of paper scattered under the desk. He thought that he had accidentally knocked them off, so he bent down and picked them up to take a look. On the paper were pencil drawings, all of which were how he had done the exercises in the morning. With just a few strokes, his expression was outlined. The strokes were skillful, and it was hard to believe that this was done by a little girl.

He didn't know that she had such talent …

Xu Zhizhou was lost in thought with a few pieces of paper in his hand. He heard a slight movement behind him. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the door of the study open a crack. Then, the crack grew bigger and bigger. Finally, a small black head poked in from outside the door.

The moment their eyes met, she seemed to be a little embarrassed. However, she had already been discovered, so she simply stood up straight and slowly squeezed through the gap in the door. Then, she carefully walked to Xu Zhizhou's side, tugged at the corner of his shirt, and shook it gently.

"Brother, I know I was wrong. I'm sorry. Don't be angry ~ ~" Her voice was so sweet that it could seep out honey.

…

In the supermarket.

Xu Zhizhou pushed the shopping cart and looked at the bouncing figure in front of him. He still wanted to slap himself. He didn't understand why he was soft-hearted for a moment. It must be that her expression just now was too obedient and innocent, so it made people forget the fact that she was a little bastard.

Song Xuan happily hugged a lot of strawberry-flavored yogurt, milk, and ice cream. He ran over and put them all into the shopping cart. In an instant, half of the empty space was filled.

The little girl asked excitedly, "Brother, is there anything you want to eat?

I'll get it for you. "

Xu Zhizhou shook his head and said flatly, "Are you done shopping?

If you are, we'll go back. "
