Chapter 74 – White Crystal (3)

The 22 elite members of Evil Society quickly went to work. They blocked off the pathways to the stage and attacked the security. They didn’t distinguish between security or civilians and cut down anyone in their way. The hall turned into hell as Team 1’s executive, Neide, led the assault. The association had labeled him as a grade 1 wanted djinn on the violet list.

“Heroes! Over here! Here!”

Zelen called for the heroes in despair. Neide shut his mouth and let his underlings deal with the heroes. He snatched the cube containing the crystal, but a man suddenly walked up to him.

“Where are you going? Let me introduce myself. I’m a high rank hero, Jin Xiangchen.”

The man spoke in poor Korean. Neide stared at him, but didn’t plan on fighting. With a smirk, Neide’s body multiplied into 8 clones.

“What a troublesome ability.”

Jin Xiangchen prepared to fight all eight simultaneously, but Neide ran away in different directions.

“Y-You motherfucker.”

Xiangchen wondered which direction he should choose? After slightly hesitating, he chased the one running east. Meanwhile, Boss stared at the stage through the darkness. She walked north instead of east when Neide’s clones split up.

“Hmm.”

A man observing the situation slowly stood up. He walked through the darkness and grabbed the wrist of a djinn who was about to cut down a civilian.

“Kuak!”

The man twisted the djinn’s arm as the weapon dropped. Then he grabbed the djinn’s neck until the djinn bled from all orifices and died. Kim Junwoo tossed the corpse aside and grabbed the djinn’s weapon off the floor. He cut down every djinn he came across as he made his way to Chae Nayun’s party.

“Oppa!”

Chae Nayun and her friends ran up to him. Without a word, Kim Junwoo tossed the djinn’s sword to Kim Suho as he smiled at them.

“Shall we fight together?”

***

Neide split into eight and escaped like in the original story. I spotted which Neide had the crystal from the rooftop.

To the east, a hero chased after Neide, but that one didn’t have the crystal. To the south, Jain accompanied Neide while disguised as a djinn. However, that Neide didn’t have the crystal either. To the north, Boss should be chasing the one with the crystal like in the original story. I closely observed that direction.

“Stop!”

Twelve djinns intercepted Boss as she unleashed her magic power, a tiny black ball that looked quite ordinary. However, that tiny ball effortlessly sucked all twelve djinns and twisted them into unrecognizable shapes.

Void Sphere.

That destructive ability was only a small display of Boss’ gift. Boss continued chasing after Neide. She would easily steal the crystal from Neide as I looked at him.

“What?”

I shook my head. This Neide didn’t have the crystal either. The Neide in the north didn’t have the crystal?

“How?”

I quickly turned on my laptop. However, no alerts popped up. If it wasn’t because of a settings change, then what happened? I broke out into cold sweat. My head felt numb, and my heart began to beat faster. I scanned the hall, but I couldn’t find the crystal with so many people running around.

“…”

Suddenly, I had an idea. I never tried it before, but I couldn’t waste any more time as I concentrated stigma’s magic power into my eyes. The magic power moved according to my will so it should be possible to strengthen my thousand-mile eyes.

The scope of my vision transformed. Everything entered into view like a satellite looking down. Civilians escaping the hall, heroes fighting djinns, strange monsters summoned by djinns, and… the white crystal. I easily spotted it inside a fast-moving sedan with only one person.

Thwak—

My vision narrowed as my blood vessels burst.

“…!”

I grabbed my eyes and knelt from a pain so intense I couldn’t even scream. However, I didn’t have time to writhe in pain. I took out the Desert Eagle to snipe the sedan, but I couldn’t aim properly. Without a choice, I jumped from the rooftop thanks to parkour.

I looked for something to ride as soon as I landed. Luckily, I spotted a black motorbike nearby. It looked quite expensive. I had ample experience driving a motorcycle since I worked delivery as a part-time job before the army.

“Everybody, stay calm as you evacuate!”

I heard Chae Nayun’s voice. She held onto a stick condensed from magic power. I felt somewhat sorry for her and shouted.

“Hey!”

“Uh, what, Kim Hajin!? Where have you…”

I took out the magic sword from my magical storage and tossed it at her.

“Be careful not to get hurt.”

Then I ran to the bike. All car keys in this world were digital, so I just had to hack into it with my laptop. I sat on the saddle and muttered.

“Scan.”

The result was… 40%. Jackpot. The number 40 flashed on the bike. The Random Consolidation System worked perfectly on vehicles.

“Hey, where are you going!”

Chae Nayun asked as I started the engine without answering. Vroooaaang—! The engine roared like a beast.

“Whoa!”

The bike sped away the moment I stepped on the accelerator. Its sheer speed surprised me beyond my expectations.

I made up for my driving skills with my acute dynamic vision. I stormed through the roads towards the southeast. The bike streaked through like a beam of light as I reached my destination in just three minutes. I spotted the back of the sedan after my supersonic charge. I planned on doing something quite daring as I surrounded the bike in aether and slammed on the accelerator. A piercing wind struck my body, and the air pressure prevented me from breathing. Even so, I didn’t let up as the bike rammed into the sedan.

KWANG—!

The motorcycle should’ve been blown away. However, the collision shot the sedan up instead. It overturned like a tin can and barreled through the air until it slammed into a tree.

“Haa.”

I stopped the bike and finally breathed.

“…”

Chae Nayun stared blankly at what just happened. She focused on where the bike zoomed away and became a tiny dot. Honestly, she always dreamed of such a scene. Cooly driving away on a bike at lightspeed…

“Kyaaak!”

A desperate shriek snapped her back to reality.

“What?”

Chae Nayun stared at the magic sword.

Where did he get something so expensive? He said he won 2 billion won, so did he buy it with that money? To give it to me? No, that can’t be…

Regardless, it would undoubtedly help her. With a grin, she imbued her magic power into the sword.

Wiing—

A sharp blade shot out from the hilt.

“Huup.”

Chae Nayun continued imbuing her magic power into the sword. The blade grew longer until it reached 4 meters. It burned clearly without a single blemish and displayed the true power of her gift.

“Someone save me!”

“I’m coming!”

Chae Nayun shouted with the sword in hand.

I approached the overturned sedan. Magic power flowed out of stigma and formed the Desert Eagle. Drkk— The driver's door popped open as a djinn crawled out with a suitcase.

“Crazy bastard…”

The djinn cursed as he glared at me.

“You’re dead.”

Where did his confidence come from? An object flashed in the distance. An aerial carrier under stealth flew towards us. The djinn’s face brightened. However, I casually took out my laptop.

“O-Over here! Comrades! Over here!”

The djinn even shot a flare gun to announce his position, but I didn’t bother to stop him. I didn’t need to. Instead, I connected to a [peripheral server] with my laptop. I needed 100 SP to access the A0936-B Carrier. I slightly regretted it, but it would be worth it. Tak. I closed the laptop and the carrier suddenly retreated.

“A-Ah, w-where are you going? Over here, I said! HEY! WHERE ARE YOU FUCKING GOING! I mean, where are you going, sirs? Guys?”

The djinn coughed up blood and went insane. A terrifying wind pressure blew by, and something huge fell from the sky. KOONG! Shockwaves shook the area as a rock crushed the djinn’s head. I stared at who just landed.

“…”

A giant over 2.2 meters gave off an overwhelming presence. A man who could be called the strongest in close range combat – Cheok Jungyeong. However, he had a girl in his hands like a pet.

“L-Let go! Let me go!”

Rachel struggled as much as she could, but Cheok Jungyeong didn’t even flinch.

“Let me go! This is England’s territory, and I am England’s princess…”

Cheok Jungyeong spoke with a grin as I stared at her.

“Oh, this girl? It looked like she was following you, so I brought her.”

Rachel and I made eye contact as she clenched her teeth. I picked up the suitcase. Then Cheok Jungyeong spoke.

“Put that down.”

I briefly replied, “You first.”

“…”

Cheok Jungyeong didn’t respond. He only stared at me with dead eyes. I pointed my gun at the suitcase. Immediately, Cheok Jungyeong’s expression changed.

“Eh? Hey, hey, do you know how much that’s worth?”

I transformed the Desert Eagle into a shotgun without answering.

“Fine, you want to try me? Let’s see who’s faster. Me ripping off this girl’s head, or you drilling a hole through that suitcase.”

I put my finger on the trigger. The confrontation continued until Cheo Jungyeong sighed and gave up.

“Fine, you little bastard.”

Then he threw Rachel at me.

“Kyaa!”

Rachel fell at my feet. I was curious why she was here, but now wasn’t the time. Cheok Jungyeong spoke in a heavy voice, “Now, put that down.”

“…”

I couldn’t handle this crystal in the first place. Ideally, I planned to give it to Rachel and the English Royal Court, but it was impossible with Cheok Jungyeong.

“Fine.”

I threw the suitcase without hesitation. Cheok Jungyeong picked it up. It looked like a small purse in his hands. Wiiing— A fly landed on my nose and distracted me for a second.

Suddenly, a fierce wind blew towards me. All the hair on my body flew backward. I couldn’t even think as I saw the head-sized fist in front of me. Cheok Jungyeong smiled in satisfaction. He had charged towards me in the blink of an eye. Just 3 more centimeters and he would’ve crushed my head.

“Looks like you aren’t so bad.”

Cheok Jungyeong seemed satisfied with my calm response. His heavy steps resounded as he left. My body couldn’t move until he completely disappeared and my head felt blank.
