Crazy Ex-Boyfriend

Chapter 8

Anything else?

He suddenly realized that he couldn't give her anything other than "love."

He felt a little uneasy.

He didn't notice that his friend was overly attentive to Mrs. Antrick.

Hayley had noticed it a long time ago, so she often interjected in their conversations at the right time.

Helen was too used to receiving men's attentions and didn't feel anything.

After dinner, she immediately said goodbye and went upstairs.

Hayley was still eating dessert. "I'm starving. Mom didn't give me lunch. I was packing all morning and noon."

She put down her fork and licked the cream at the corner of her mouth with her small pink tongue.

"Kinou, do you know how old my mother is?"

"I don't know.

How old is she? "

"She gave birth to me when she was 17. She's 35 this year. She's only older than you — eight years older.

Doesn't she look like she's 35 at all? "

"She looks like she's only 25. She looks like your sister."

Hayley laughed. "You should say that in front of her. She'll be happy."

Kinou smiled.

Only then did Juven realize that the conversation between the two of them was a little subtle.

He had seen Helen earlier, and of course, he was stunned. Everyone would take a few more looks at that kind of ethereal beauty.

But sometimes, when a person was too beautiful, it would create a sense of unreality.

There were plenty of great beauties in Hollywood. Decades ago, Ingrid Bergman, Heidi Lamarr, Marilyn Monroe, and Vivien Leigh were all examples of bright beauty. Helen's beauty wasn't inferior to those famous beauties in the early years.

But it was always a little — how should he put it?

It seemed a little ethereal.

Hayley wasn't as sharp and beautiful as her mother, but she was still sweet and beautiful. This kind of girl was like an upgraded version of your girl-next-door beauty. She was cuter and more suitable.

But what was going on with Kinou?

He looked at him suspiciously.

Kinou asked Hayley, "Are you done eating?" He called the waiter to pay the bill.

Then he asked her, "Do you want to go out with us?"

"No, tomorrow.

I have to pack my luggage. Mom … "She frowned unhappily, but soon relaxed." Kinou, thank you for treating me and Helen to dinner.

Juven, are you coming too? "

Juven nodded absentmindedly.

"Then have fun.

I have to go. "She stood up.

Juven stood up as well. "I'll walk you up."

Helen quickly found a divorce lawyer, confirmed the official separation, and began the process of divorce proceedings.

Because money was involved, the details of the divorce were trivial and troublesome.

Throughout the summer, Hayley was busy with this matter. She ran errands for Helen, collected some necessary receipts and evidence, and went back to Isaac's house a few times.

Isaac moved out of Beverly Hills at the end of June. His house was taken away by the bank, including the Beetles that used to belong to Hayley.

The bank held an auction in August. An anonymous buyer bought the house, and Hari bought the Beetles.

Something else happened in the meantime. Helen found that a few pieces of jewelry were missing, so she called the police and said that Lydia had stolen her jewelry.

Hayley went out to play that day and came back very late.

Helen didn't care who she was dating anymore, and they were getting bolder and bolder. Now, Juven drove her back and even went to her room for a while before leaving at midnight.

That night, it was Rui Fan who sent her home.

"Mom." Hayley was a little confused. Why was she sitting in the living room?

The suite had bedrooms on each side, and the living room in the middle.

"Helen." Juven greeted Helen.

Helen nodded coldly and said to her daughter, "Come here."

Hayley was a little afraid that she would say something about not dating Juven again, so she stood still and said shamelessly, "Let's talk about it tomorrow. I'm so sleepy." She yawned very exaggeratedly.

"I lost some jewelry, and I called the police."

"Ah?" Hayley was startled and looked at Juven nervously.

"I told the police that it was Lydia who stole my jewels."

"What?" Hayley's eyes widened.

"What?

Am I wrong? "

"I took your jewelry," Hayley said straightforwardly. "You know that it couldn't have been Lydia."

Helen stood up and patted her a few times. "I knew it was you!"

Juven was stunned by the reality that even a fairy would hit a naughty child, but he quickly blocked Hayley behind him.

Helen punched Juven a few times. Seeing that she couldn't hit Hayley, she stopped and said, "You did something wrong, so you have to bear the consequences.

If you don't bear the consequences, someone else will be punished because of your mistake. "

"Mom, I was wrong. I shouldn't have taken your jewelry secretly. I should have asked you for it directly."

"You don't lack money. Why did you take my jewelry?" Helen glanced at her angrily.

Even if it was an angry glance, it was still very charming. Juven felt that she was looking at him, and half of his body was about to melt.

"I have to prepare for the unexpected. What if I don't have money to go to college?"

"Are you stupid?

Why did I give birth to such a little fool like you? "

"You're smart. Why did you let Isaac take care of your money?"

Helen was rendered speechless by his words.

Juven found it very interesting.

Both mother and daughter were quite childish and immature. Hayley was a little better, but she was still young, so it was understandable.

"I don't want to talk to you." Helen gave up. "Reflect on yourself."

"What about Lydia?"

"How would I know?

Don't ask me. "

The next day, Hayley went to the police station with a lawyer to close the case and release Lydia.

"I'm sorry. Mom called the police without knowing." She gave her a few $20 bills. "Buy some food for Liam."

Lydia looked a little haggard and took the money.

"Miss Hayley, I don't have a job."

"Oh, that's inevitable.

But it shouldn't be difficult for you to find a job. Do you want me to write a recommendation letter for you?

Or do you want Isaac to write it? "

Lydia lowered her head and said awkwardly, "I'm afraid … I'm afraid it won't be easy to find a new job."

Hayley understood. "I'm sorry. I didn't know mom would deal with things like this."

Helen didn't care at all that Lydia had been arrested for theft and that it would seriously affect her job search in the future.

"I'll ask around and see which family is looking for servants.

You should rest for a while and take care of Liam at home.

Juven, how much cash do you have on you? "

Juven took out his wallet from his jeans pocket and gave her $100.

Hayley gave the $100 to Lydia. "It should be enough for you to use for a few days."

Lydia left.

Juven glanced at Lydia's back. "Are you really going to find a job for her?"

"She took the punishment for me. I can't just leave her alone.

Let's go. "They left the police station.

Hayley's breadwinner had fallen, but it didn't have much of an impact on her social circle. The young men and women who used to surround Hayley distanced themselves from her for a few days and found that her quality of life hadn't deteriorated at all. In fact, it might even be better.

Apart from running errands for Helen, Hayley went out almost every day. She wouldn't be with Juven all the time. Savannah was her closest playmate.

Hari came to see her a few times. He still asked her to play tennis, have dinner, go out on a yacht and so on. Hayley sometimes agreed and sometimes refused. Her attitude didn't change.

Hari postponed his trip to Spain. A week after the scheduled date, he went to Spain with David.

Lydia had a new job. She was a servant at Hari's uncle's house.

Kinou invited Helen and Hayley to dinner again. This time, Juven wasn't there.

A few days later, Kinou found Hayley burning something in the boiler room in the hotel basement.

Hayley came out of the elevator with a big linen bag. It was the kind of linen bag that the hotel used to store bed sheets. She then pushed open the door to the staff passageway.

Kinou didn't know what she was doing, so he followed her curiously.

He followed her all the way and found himself in the hotel basement.

Hayley gave two bottles of wine to the worker in the boiler room. The worker opened the small door of the boiler. Hayley asked the worker to leave. She put on a dust mask, took something out of the linen bag, and threw it into the boiler.

"What are you doing?" Kinou suddenly asked.

Hayley's hand trembled, and a bra fell to the floor.

She turned and glared at him. "Curiosity killed the cat. Haven't you heard of this saying?" Then she threw the bra in her hand into the boiler.

"Why are you secretly burning clothes here?

Is it some mysterious religious ceremony? "

"No.

I can't just throw these into the dustbin, right?

Of course I'll burn them. "

The boiler room was very hot, and she was standing very close to the boiler. Her little face was red from the heat, and soon she was covered in sweat.

Kinou was also covered in sweat.

He thought for a moment. It seemed that old underwear would end up in the dustbin. Was there anything different about it?

What a strange girl.

Hayley threw all the clothes, put away the linen bag, and quickly left the boiler room.

Kinou followed her out.

"You're so strange," Hayley said after they walked out of the staff passageway. "No one notices what I'm doing at all."

"That's because you're strange."

"Don't be too curious.

Also, don't ask Helen out for dinner again. "

Kinou was slightly stunned. "What do you mean?

Why didn't she tell me directly if she wanted to reject me? "

Hayley smiled a little mockingly. "For a woman like Helen, even if she rejected you, you wouldn't hear it."

"It's just dinner. Who doesn't eat?"

"What do you want to do?

Date her and sleep with her? "
