Dragon Rider Warplane
Chapter 738
Chapter 738: Huh? What is this…
A black stone?
Jack Roosevelt’s pupils suddenly widened as a lightning bolt exploded in his memory.
“You, it’s you!”
Jack Roosevelt’s face twisted into a ghastly expression, resembling a vengeful spirit.
It was indeed that East Asian boy; this was completely unexpected.
It turned out that the attack was planned and executed by him, leading to the annihilation of the Bronny Company’s collection team, and even he might struggle to survive now.
“You finally remembered!”
The other person’s tone dripped with mockery, sending a deep sense of fear through Jack Roosevelt. He recalled White’s subordinates reporting the site where six members of the security team lost contact during the day—blood and human fragments littered the ground.
All for a worthless black chrome iron ore, and the price was the entire collection team. This stone was indeed too costly.
Ironically, he had previously been raising the price to buy it from the other side, but now it seemed that his offers were far from sufficient.
“Which company are you from? Who is your employer? I can pay you; I can pay you a lot of money. Can you just stop?”
The other side was a ferocious beast; he had no chance against it. But if this person was human, that meant he still had a glimmer of hope. Jack Roosevelt considered the other as a rival competitor.
Could that metal giant dragon be a high-tech mechanical war beast? That was the only explanation that made sense.
Hiss!
This was too terrifying.
What kind of rival competitor was this? ArcelorMittal? Shin-Etsu? POSCO? Nucor? Kohler? Vale? Rio Tinto? BHP?
He quickly ran through the scenarios in his mind, but couldn’t imagine which giant had such power. Damn it, a mechanical war beast wasn’t your average tank; what kind of technological level was needed for that?
No matter how he thought, he didn’t consider China. If the Chinese had such technology, with their population base, they would have already dominated the world.
Originally, Jack Roosevelt thought he had the answer figured out, but with Lin Mo’s appearance, reality misled him.
Talking about mechanical war beasts, if Gold Coin knew what he was thinking, it would definitely roar inside his head: “I’m not food! Damn mechanical beast!”
In the jargon of this world’s warfare, it was called information asymmetry, which was Lin Mo’s biggest advantage in surviving here.
No one could imagine that among them was another world’s Air Knight, not only with powerful battle energy and close combat skills but also light element magic.
What was even more absurd was the existence of a gold giant dragon from another world thriving in this metallurgically advanced civilization like a fish in water.
“Haha, hahahaha…”
Lin Mo suddenly burst into laughter, the sound growing louder, echoing through the surroundings.
“Hehe!” With the mentality of the weak mocking the strong, Jack Roosevelt also started to laugh foolishly.
“Fool!”
Lin Mo abruptly stopped laughing, causing Jack Roosevelt to shiver, his heart sinking as if he had fallen into an abyss.
“I don’t belong to any company, sir; your nonsense is too much. It’s time for you to move on.”
Lin Mo certainly didn’t belong to any company, nor did he count as part of the National Defense Star. He had once belonged to the Royal Dragon Knights of the Sland Empire, and now he was part of the Chinese Air Force and stationed with the Night Special Forces, not under the management of any business enterprise.
No one could provoke a Dragon Knight and remain lively after, not in the past, not now, and surely not in the future.
No matter which world he was in, Lin Mo actively defended the honor of the Air Knights.
(I will fight all who do wrong.)
“No, no, no, you can’t do this! I’m worth a lot of money! You can ask my company for a ransom.”
Jack Roosevelt’s expression changed dramatically. To save his own life, he racked his brain for any conditions that might persuade the other party.
His only opportunity was to grasp that the other person was likely from Earth. If the person were an alien, that would truly be a tragedy. Can beings from another planet be swayed by dollars or euros? They might not even recognize gold or jewels.
Uh, speaking of which, Lin Mo and the gold giant dragon still needed to rely on the renminbi to get by, but the prices he offered were still far from enough.
If Jack Roosevelt had said this a year ago, it might have worked, but now, both one person and one dragon had all the money they needed; his statement completely missed the mark.
“Gold Coin!”
Lin Mo snapped his fingers and stopped looking at the unlucky man.
“Yes! Morin!”
The gold giant dragon sneered and promptly prepared to carry out the Dragon Knight’s orders.
In another world, this would have been unimaginable; without the dragon flute as a protective charm nearby, Morin’s life would have been at risk. Yet, now Gold Coin behaved like a dedicated contract knight dragon.
But as a long-term supporter, the gold giant dragon recognized not a contract, but an employment agreement. The Dragon Knight had to work with the Air Force for his meals, and this hardworking giant dragon had to tag along for some scraps as well, taking Morin’s wage card to do labor for him.
“You can’t do this! No, no! I’m a senior executive of Boulogne Mining! You can’t treat me like this! Our company will never let you go…” Ah!
Jack Roosevelt, frustrated and powerless, ended his threat with a scream that abruptly cut off, leaving another bloodied figure on the ground.
With a form as long as two buses, a single strike from the dragon’s claw would be no less damaging than being hit by a heavy main battle tank; against such immense force, a human body was as fragile as an eggshell.
Attached to Lin Mo’s "Dragon General" was the gold giant dragon’s splitting instincts, thanks to the Split Metal he fortuitously obtained while shark fishing in the South China Sea, which allowed Gold Coin to have the ability to split. One side shifted back to its original gold giant dragon form, while the other side attached itself as an enhanced exoskeleton armor to the technology-built "Dragon General," a digital tactical armor suitable for land and air.
Now, it was time to tally the spoils.
All metal items undoubtedly belonged to the gold giant dragon; otherwise, it would become just as furious as when it was in the Su Lan Empire.
Stealing food from a dragon was a notion only an antiquated fool would entertain.
“This meteorite…”
While the gold giant dragon busily gathered various metal products, even the screws would not be spared, Lin Mo curiously touched the meteorite.
Under the glow of two lights, the purple material reflected a faint metallic sheen, gleaming alongside multicolored crystal formations.
Lin Mo noticed those exposed unique crystals; if it weren’t for the gold giant dragon being spoiled by modern industry, it would have surely devoured them first without hesitation—perhaps even the chrome ore that "monkey" Abul Hasan Zargalar’s young son Ali had gifted him.
But now, the gold giant dragon was like a rat in a rice barn, completely enjoying itself, forgetting all about the Sky City of the dragon kin.
“What meteorite?!” The gold giant dragon, having finished looting, rushed over and stared at this space visitor the size of a small car, tilting its head and saying, “Hmm, the metal content is very high, but there are quite a few impurities.”
The impurities it referred to were the beautiful crystals that constituted about seventy percent of the entire meteorite. Calculating again, the remaining metal content was only about the size of a car’s trunk, which wasn’t much at all.
“Don’t waste it! We agreed that you would handle the beginning and the end.”
Lin Mo had no interest in the massive meteorite; he merely reminded Gold Coin to leave no trace. This was a rare opportunity for it to appear in full form, and if any subtle evidence was left behind, not only would this giant dragon be in trouble, but Lin Mo would be implicated too.
He didn’t even know that while he was in America, he had already been quietly hypnotized and interrogated by the Americans; however, the CIA’s fools had found nothing but some nonsensical clamor about the Dragon Knights of the Su Lan Empire.
The gold giant dragon was even more tragic, as it was sealed in Area 51 for days, scanned repeatedly by various devices, nearly terrified out of its wits.
During the day, those motorcycles and the riders were the gold giant dragon’s responsibility, as it devoured all the metal components from Citroen and the motorcycles, grinding the non-metallic parts into powder to be scattered around, awaiting natural decomposition.
The assailants fared even worse, with not a single full corpse left behind, all returned to nature. The blazing sun, flies feeding, birds pecking, and the decomposition by insects, ants, and bacteria would quickly digest everything, leaving no traces whatsoever.
“Alright, alright, I get it, you annoying creature!”
Gold Coin shook its massive dragon head, stomping heavily on the ground as if venting its frustration. A sudden muffled cry emerged from beneath its sharp claws, then silence followed.
The unfortunate geologist Rodriguez, having fainted in fright, could not escape the fate of being unknowingly crushed into a paste by the gold giant dragon.
At this point, the Boulogne Mining meteorite collection team was truly wiped out, with not a single person managing to escape. Due to supervisor Jack Roosevelt’s rash decision, a worthless chrome ore had led to a bloody massacre.
Gold Coin’s claw gripped the egg-shaped meteorite, which was the size of a small car, completely covering more than half of it, using a method of gradual disintegration and absorption.
To maintain the graceful image of the dragon kin, it could not just pounce on it like a dog and gnaw away; that would disgrace the noble dragon lineage.
This glutton had likely long forgotten its youthful mining days, digging for scraps much like a dog searching for buried bones.
“Huh? What is this…”
The gold giant dragon paused, the disintegration and absorption process unexpectedly halting without reason.
