Dragon Rider Warplane

Chapter 784

Chapter 784: Major Lin Mo’s "Superpower"

From the moment aircraft were born, there has never been a mention of one with a shield.

Energy shields have always existed only in legends and science fiction; even if Lin Mo unleashed his Battle Energy, it might not achieve the same effect as the mutated repulsion shield created by the Ser effect and the magic circle. Light attributes are not the strongest in terms of defense capabilities.

The onboard operating system and functional modules of the “monstrous” variable wings fighter jet underwent a complete version upgrade, along with hundreds of ongoing small adjustments and modifications to fine-tune the system. However, it still awaited test flight validation.

In human labor terms, it would take a team of ten at least a year or two to reach this level of Gold Coins.

The performance of the X-8 “monstrous” dual-engine F119-PW-100 advanced dual-rotor afterburning turbofan engines has been maximized; to elevate it further, new engines must be installed.

Due to the bottleneck of the engines reappearing, the X-8 “monstrous” variable wings fighter jet, after technological upgrades, remained at the peak level of fifth-generation fighters and had not yet stepped into the realm of sixth-generation fighters.

Nonetheless, the gap between the “monstrous” and the sixth generation was only paper-thin.

If calculations are correct, Lin Mo believes that even against Boeing’s sixth-generation fighter F/A-XX, his “monstrous” jet would definitely have the power to compete.

Whether the Night Special Forces were accommodating Lin Mo due to his busy work on the fighter or if there hadn’t been significant military operations recently, Lin Mo was fortunate enough to have enough time to fully devote himself to upgrading the variable wings fighter jet.

After closing the exterior integrated data interface hatch, Lin Mo sighed with relief and began to push aside the white temporary fence that displayed the true form of the X-8 “monstrous” fighter jet once again within the hangar.

As he opened the temporary fence, Lin Mo noticed only a few kittens remaining in the hangar. It seemed that out of five WZ-12 helicopters, only two stood guard, while two Mi-17 helicopters and the Bamboo Dragonfly ground-effect vehicle had vanished without a trace.

“Where is everyone?”

Lin Mo scratched his head, realizing that he had become too engrossed in tinkering with his fighter jet to notice the Aircrew Group had deployed on a large scale.

“Little Lin! Captain Pan and the others went on a mission!”

Seeing Lin Mo’s confused expression, it was clear that this new deputy leader had been so immersed in work that he overlooked the significant movement within the hangar.

With the group leader leading the mission, leaving a deputy leader behind to manage unexpected situations is only natural.

“Now I see. Carry on with your work!”

Lin Mo continued to push open the maintenance area exit, clearing a path.

Before this, he had already tidied up all tools and equipment; maintaining order and cleanliness is a basic professional quality for mechanics.

Beep!

The fighter jet behind Lin Mo emitted a soft sound like a car unlocking. This quirky habit of the Dragon Knight proved to be quite practical.

If not for this, if one day the fighter jet’s Gold Coin parts were missing, it could become nothing more than an ornament.

Unless the intent was to completely destroy the fighter jet, attempting to close the repulsion shield that enveloped the entire aircraft would be a challenge for the Dragon Knight without any remote means.

Lin Mo had made some improvements to the remote control key, adding a small function.

With a barely audible sound, the repulsion shield activated to 5%, just enough to cover the surface skin, while the anti-gravity field countered a considerable part of the aircraft’s weight.

Pressing the remote button for the Ser engine’s power output once again, the geometric form of the repulsion shield began to take shape. Although the shield did not lift the fighter jet into the air, it was sufficient for Lin Mo.

Walking to the other side, Lin Mo reached out, feeling an intangible force of resistance even without touching the fighter jet. The closer his hand approached the aircraft, the greater the repulsive force became.

The force acts in both directions; under the mutual repulsion between the Dragon Knight and the fighter jet, one side is destined to yield. A mindless fighter jet could never compete with Lin Mo’s strength.

Thus, it yielded.

Or rather, it was simply pushed by Lin Mo.

As he lifted further, the aircraft’s weight was surprisingly raised under the influence of the force field, while Lin Mo’s hand had not even touched the fighter jet.

“What is this?”

At that moment, Li Muling, gazing through the hangar’s surveillance camera, widened her eyes in shock.

How is this possible? What is happening?

She stared at the screen, dumbfounded as if she had become paralyzed.

“How can this be? This can’t be! It’s unscientific! So unscientific!”

Li Muling murmured to herself. Suddenly, she jolted into action, grabbed her tactical tablet, and dashed out the door, jumping onto an Electric Cart. She sped toward the Aircrew Group’s hangar, holding a small HD digital camera in her hand along with the tablet.

“Hey! Hey! Big Sister!”

Li Muling dialed her sister Li Muxin’s internal communication phone with unprecedented speed.

“Hello? What’s the matter?”

Her sister’s voice came through the speaker.

“Report to you, Big Sister! I finally discovered that guy really has a problem!”

Li Muling struggled to control her voice, almost slipping into incoherence. Even now, her heart raced like a drum. This was not a science fiction movie; it was a real scene.

Oh my! A person actually lifted a fighter jet into the air! What does this mean? A miracle?

Li Muxin, echoing her sister’s thoughts, questioned, “What problem?”

“This guy has superpowers! Yes! Superpowers! I suspect he isn’t human at all!”

Li Muling pushed the Electric Cart to its limit, speeding at least 50 kilometers per hour through the vast underground passage.

“Huh?! Are you sick?”

“What? No, Big Sister, I’m not sick! Why are you asking about a cold?”

Li Muling suddenly paused.

“Cold medicine can have sedative effects. Are you sure you’re not feverish and talking nonsense?”

Li Muxin’s voice remained calm and steady, unaffected by her sister’s excitement.

“Ugh! Enough of that nonsense! I’m perfectly fine and completely awake. I really saw it! Major Lin Mo is definitely suspicious. I have video evidence! I already told the safety department to capture and back up the footage. They saw it too! You can contact them to get the video. I’m not lying!”

After a flurry of frustrated entanglement, Li Muling’s face flushed bright red, feeling even more excited than when completing a major task. She had caught a big fish!

This Lin Mo is definitely up to something. Now it’s time to see how he explains this!

She clearly saw that he wasn’t wearing Dragon General gear, so there was no excuse to say it was due to the power boost from the tactical armor. The fighter jet almost floated in mid-air, as if a distance separated it from Lin Mo’s hand. This cannot be explained by science.

It’s not superpowers, could it be magic?

Li Muling felt thrilled by her keen observations paying off.

Most of the Aircrew Group had left the hangar, and the remaining members were busier than ever. No one noticed that the Maintenance Area for the variable wings fighter jet was wide open. Lin Mo was effortlessly lifting the fighter jet out, looking like an ant hoisting a walnut, a bizarre sight.

After some adjustments, Lin Mo supported the aircraft by one of the force field nodes below, gently cradling the fighter jet in his hand. Although the repulsion shield had not fully negated the entire weight of the “monstrous,” the burden on Lin Mo’s hand was no more than twenty kilograms.

Even while moving, the aerodynamic properties created by the shield’s geometric shape slightly lifted it, making that weight feel even lighter.

“Hey! Little Lin, is your plane fixed? Do you need our help?”

Mechanic Old Feng was busy working on a gearbox when he heard footsteps behind him. He assumed it was Lin Mo and didn’t look back as he spoke.

“No need, it’s fixed. I’ll try it out soon. You carry on.”

Lin Mo calmly passed by Old Feng while cradling the enormous body of the “monstrous.”

“Oh, okay! Just let me know if you need anything. I’ll be done soon!”

Old Feng remained focused, completely unaware of the massive black fighter jet gliding silently overhead. He wouldn’t even have noticed its shadow passing by; even if he did, he’d probably think it was just Lin Mo’s shadow under the lights.

Since he could lift it away, this saved a lot of hassle, so Lin Mo was too lazy to get the towing vehicle.

Surely, having the repulsion shield with the “monstrous” would give him a unique experience.

A loud clang rang out in the hangar as a special five-point screwdriver fell onto the metal floor.

“Hey! Little Zheng, I asked you to get me the No. 6 five-point screwdriver. Why are you staring into space? I need it urgently! Hey, hey, pick it up; it’s on the floor!”

“Old Feng! Old Feng! Look fast!”

As Old Feng’s apprentice, mechanic Little Zheng stared blankly at the hangar door, calling for his master in a daze.

“Stop daydreaming! Pick it up and hand me the screwdriver! Can’t you see I’m busy? What are you looking at?”

As Old Feng tried to bring his apprentice back to reality, he turned to see what Little Zheng was staring at. Once he looked, he couldn’t tear his gaze away, as if it were glued.

The hangar door swung wide open, still not closing, and Lin Mo walked out carrying the variable wings fighter jet, which looked like an inflatable toy in his hands.

The revving sound of the Electric Cart raced towards the hangar, followed by the screech of sudden brakes.

“Hey! Where is Lin Mo? Where is he?”

An urgent voice called out from within the hangar, searching for Lin Mo, as the newcomer looked toward the empty Maintenance Area.

Li Muling saw the two mechanics staring at the hangar door, but no one answered her question.

Clearly, they had also witnessed Lin Mo lifting the fighter jet, and even an ordinary person would take a moment to recover from such a sight.
