The Door is Welded Shut
Chapter 2
Toru Oikawa, male, first year of high school. Although his height exceeded 1.8 meters, he was still an underage teenager.
Therefore, his heart would still beat faster when faced with the supernatural. For example, he knew that the classmate sitting in front of him had one, no, several living, moving tentacles that could suck on his fingers with small suction cups.
When he was training in the volleyball court, it was obvious that he was absent-minded. Not only did the coach call him twice, even his childhood playmate, Gamma Iwakizumi, came over to ask him what was wrong. However, Toru Oikawa just rubbed his soft hair, his mind in a daze. After all, not everyone could face the tentacles that stretched out from their hair in front of them normally.
"So, what's wrong with you?"
"Ah, Yo-chan, I have something very important to ask you. It's related to my life and death."
"…" Gamma Iwakizumi rolled her eyes and looked at Toru Oikawa with a volleyball in her hand. Meanwhile, Toru Oikawa hung on the chair with a look of despair. "What's the matter? Just say it. You don't have to describe it so much."
"Yo-chan, if one day you meet a good-looking girl who suits your taste in all aspects, and you suddenly discover her unknown secret, what will you do?"
"What secret?"
"For example, she's Godzilla."
As soon as he finished speaking, Gamma Iwakizumi threw a volleyball at Toru Oikawa's face. He rubbed his face and cried, "Yo-chan, you're too much. What if my face is disfigured?!"
"I shouldn't have believed that you have any normal problems. Have you read too many manga?"
"No, I'm serious."
The coach blew the whistle. Gamma Iwakizumi thought for two seconds, then looked at Toru Oikawa's nonchalant expression and unexpectedly decided to make a joke.
"Then you'll feed the demon with your body."
"Huh?!"
— — —
When Shi-si was in school, it took her a long time to figure out how to walk. The sun wasn't very bright outside, but for someone like her who had crawled out of the sea and had soft skin, it was still a little difficult.
Ignoring the gazes of others, Shi-si took out a parasol from her bag and opened it. Through the lens, she could see the world more clearly. To be honest, Shi-si still couldn't remember the road that she had walked for more than a month. After all, one couldn't expect a creature that had lived in the sea since she was young to be able to read the road signs. Walking into the classroom on time every day was already something worth celebrating.
The umbrella was carried crookedly on its shoulder. It could only determine its class and seat based on its familiarity with the seats. Up until now, it still couldn't remember the faces of any of the teachers. After all, it was too difficult for a mollusk to distinguish between humans and humans. It was too difficult for an "octopus".
If it weren't for the fact that she was really desperate, she wouldn't have considered climbing ashore from the refreshing ocean and living a life where she needed to wear clothes, study, and go to class. She couldn't recognize the road or people's faces.
As the last deep-sea monster in the world, she was originally living unscrupulously and comfortably in the ocean thousands of meters below the surface. When she was about to mature and needed to breed, she realized that she was the only one left in the entire ocean. There was no one else of her kind.
The thinking of animals was very straightforward, to the point that even straight men would concede defeat.
For this reason, she went to ask a few other species that were also old monsters. After receiving the suggestion that she could go ashore and breed with humans, she resolutely waved a few thick and strong tentacles and climbed ashore one night.
It took her a year to figure out what the general human society was like. During this period, she encountered a lot of trouble. In the end, she was told by the senior that only outstanding human males could impregnate her, and Shi-si couldn't enter the mature society. It was better to wait a few years and raise two reserves of food before eating.
Shi-si felt that this was very right, and looking at her own human body, which still had a few years to mature, she found people to apply for all kinds of documents. She asked the same kind of people who used to go ashore to play in the ocean to directly send her to a certain middle school.
There was indeed a reserve of food.
However, the car had flipped over without any warning.
When she thought that the food reserves she raised for three years had gone bad, Shi-si felt very wronged, especially heartbroken, and very pitiful.
And if she had to talk about it, she was the one who ran all the way from Teiguang to Miyagi Prefecture to change high school. At that time, her reserve of food had invited two people to go to the same school.
What was the name of the school?
Hmm … Mount Luo or Mount Heiyama?
With this thought in mind, Shi-si put away her umbrella and opened the door. The moment she stepped into the classroom, the bell rang. The teacher looked at her with a bit of anger. Perhaps he wanted to punish her, but he didn't have a reason to. When he loudly asked her to quickly return to her seat, Shi-si didn't say anything and just nodded and walked over. Just as she was about to sit down, she saw Toru Oikawa looking up and sneaking glances at her.
— — Ah, what's his name again?
She remembered that this was the classmate who found the tentacle hidden in her hair yesterday. But due to the poor memory of marine animals and face blindness, she couldn't remember who he was. Shi-si didn't care too much about this matter. After all, if this classmate talked about it with great fanfare, she wouldn't be able to quietly go to class at this time.
So she didn't even look at Toru Oikawa again. After sitting down, she opened her book and began to listen to the class. After all, her memory was really bad. If she didn't study hard, she might not even be able to go to school.
And if she couldn't go to school, how could she find high-quality food reserves?
What Shi-si didn't know was that behind her, Toru Oikawa looked at her back with a "no way" expression. She didn't know if he was unhappy because he was ignored or happy because she didn't respond to him.
However, Gamma Iwakizumi's answer was still spinning in his mind. Even if it was the general ghost novel, after discovering someone's secret, they would have to sacrifice themselves.
That was why Ji Kawa Toru was always on tenterhooks, especially when he was seated so close to ShiSi. He spent more time staring at ShiSi's back than usual, and he also spent more time staring at ShiSi's body.
Because he was still waiting for when Shi-si would make a move on him.
However, Shi-si, or in her soft brain, didn't think about this at all. She also didn't care about Toru Oikawa's depressed thoughts. She still did what she should do.
On the other hand, Toru Oikawa had to stay together for three days. When he was away from Shi-si classmate, he let out a long sigh of relief. But at night, these energetic boys insisted on discussing ghost stories. Toru Oikawa, who had been on tenterhooks for the past few days, also listened, but the result was self-evident. It was better not to listen.
"Hey, aren't there a lot of manga with beautiful girls and monsters nowadays? Although it's a bit hard to accept, after reading a lot of it, I still find it great."
"How is it great? If it's a monster, won't it be scary?"
"But when only the male protagonist discovers the other party's identity and is asked to marry her, hehehe, you know."
"Monster girlfriend … Won't you be scared awake at night?"
"Of course not!
Under normal circumstances, even if it's a monster, it won't be that scary. It's basically a dragon, a night elf, or something like that. "
"Then what about those with tentacles?"
Toru Oikawa suddenly interjected, causing the boys who were discussing together to stop. Even Gamma Iwakizumi, who had already crawled into bed, was a little surprised that Toru Oikawa would actually answer such a question. And the first sentence that followed was so explosive.
"Uh … It should be an octopus?
Or something like a squid? "
"Sea anemone and starfish too, right?"
"Oh, Tetsuya!
I didn't know that you had such a strong taste! "
"Of course not!"
Toru Oikawa covered his head with his blanket and was about to go to sleep. The other boys laughed at him. He also went to sleep in a while, but lying down didn't mean that he was asleep. Toru Oikawa nestled in his bed and thought about the answers to his questions. He was thinking about what type of monster Shi-si was.
According to the suction cups, she should be more like an octopus or squid, but this kind of marine mollusk … shouldn't be very aggressive.
And thinking of this, he suddenly thought of Shi-si's incredibly pale skin. Rather than being sick, it was more like a white that had been cultivated from not seeing light for years.
It was only the first day of sleeping together. In the morning, he was glad that he didn't have to face her all the time. But after lying down at night, Toru Oikawa suddenly missed her soft hair.
Hmm … he wanted to touch it.
In Kazekawa Toru's mind, he had a good face, and the other party had spoken to him before. Even if his secret was discovered, the other party did not ask him to die as an apology. Perhaps the other party would say something like "offering his body" to him.
Therefore, after he came back, he was no longer afraid that some city monster would climb up his window in the middle of the night and try to take his life. Instead, he would smile all day long with his chin resting on his hand. He would sit behind the scavenger in class and stare at him, waiting for this person to look up at him and say softly, "You discovered my secret, so you can't leave."
Aiya, just thinking about it makes me feel good.
But the truth was, after another week, there was no movement at all from the table in front of him.
And Shi-si herself, after another week, with her terrible memory and ability, forgot about Toru Oikawa.
She was almost halfway through the first semester of her first year of high school, so she didn't remember much. Being able to record the knowledge taught by the teachers in her mind was already a feat worthy of firecrackers. So, when faced with Toru Oikawa's resentful gaze, she would occasionally look at him.
Sorry, I didn't see it. I don't understand.
She rebounded all the other party's attacks. The fortress was so strong that it was useless to bombard it with cannons. Toru Oikawa was so angry that the roots of his teeth itched.
If Toru Oikawa was said to be extremely cautious and afraid in the beginning, then after these days of inexplicable fermentation, it had become an imbalance in his heart.
— — Oh, you little girl.
So in class, he didn't smile secretly anymore. Instead, he reached out with a sullen face to touch Shi-si's hair. He even wanted to find that tentacle again and pinch it properly.
But Shi-si, who had been discovered once, was no fool. She hid her things even better. So, Toru Oikawa could only hold on to the ribbon used to tie books that the school had given him last time and secretly braid a bow on Shi-si's hair.
Shi-si actually knew that the person behind him would play with her hair when he had nothing better to do. But because she wasn't really a female high school student, as a product of the sea, she didn't really care about things like hair.
During one of the periods between classes, she noticed that her phone had rung. When she lowered her head to open it, she saw that Ryota Hwang Se had sent her a text message.
"Xiao Shi Si!
I'm downstairs at your school right now. When will you finish school? "
There was an emoji at the end of the text message. Shi-si was just about to raise her head to look at the clock at the back of the classroom when she saw Toru Oikawa's face. He was looking at the phone in her hand out of the corner of his eye.
"Shi-san, I didn't expect you to use email."
Shi-si stared at Toru Oikawa's peach blossom eyes without saying a word. She just looked past him at the clock and replied to Huang Se's message.
Shi-si really didn't like to talk much.
However, she didn't notice that Toru Oikawa's face had darkened. Even his originally bright eyes had dimmed a little.
She replied to Huang Se: "I still need one more period. Don't you have class?"
After that, she casually threw her phone back into the drawer and left Toru Oikawa as usual.
She had met Huang Se in junior high school. It should be said that she had a good relationship with the grain reserves that she had personally selected. As a result, she had a good relationship with that group of people.
Back then, it took Shi-si a lot of effort to figure out who was who, and Huang Se was the first person that Shi-si remembered because of his clingy ability.
She didn't dare to tell anyone that she had snuck away from Teiguang. She even changed all of her contact information. However, Huang Se was present at the time. She had no choice but to become accomplices, and he helped her cover up for her.
At that time, Huang Se even hugged her neck and cried, "Why didn't Xiao Shi Si come to Hai Chang? If you don't cheer for me on the basketball court, I feel like I can't shoot anymore!"
Shi-si, who usually didn't talk much, replied, "Then lose the game."
This sentence made Huang Se cry for a long time. The two exchanged new contact information, and she went to school in Miyagi Prefecture.
However, even if she didn't reply, she would still receive Huang Se's messages in her mailbox every day.
With the holidays, the two hadn't seen each other for several months. Even if she was a heartless deep-sea monster, Shi-si thought that it was time for her to meet him. Otherwise, she would really be sorry for the four-digit number of emails in her mailbox.
The moment school ended, she went out with her bag. In her hand was the phone that she rarely took out in school. Toru Oikawa looked at Shi-si's long black hair floating in the wind. He was depressed and didn't know what to think.
When he was about to pack up and go to the volleyball club, he suddenly heard the girls in the class screaming. Toru Oikawa looked up and saw many people leaning against the window, looking out. The words they were saying were roughly —
"Isn't that Huang Se -kun!"
"Hey?!
That model Ryota Hwang Se?
Why is he standing in front of our school? Is he waiting for someone? "
"No way, someone in our school knows the famous Huang Se?!"
"He's coming!
He's waiting for someone! "
Because of this conversation, Toru Oikawa also looked out. He wanted to see who the particularly handsome Ryota Hwang Se was. However, when he looked out the window, he saw Shi-si walking toward the tall Huang Se. Huang Se also jogged to Shi-si with a smile on his face. He bent down and whispered something in Shi-si's ear. He naturally took the girl's bag and the two walked out side by side.
Kishikawa Toru's eyes narrowed. He couldn't believe that Kishikawa Toru, who didn't interact with anyone and didn't even talk to anyone, would know someone who looked like a famous person.
The surrounding girls were still talking about Ryota Hwang Se, mixed with speculation and discussion about Shi-si.
When he walked out of the classroom, he still couldn't believe it. He even felt a little inexplicably … sullen.
When he was practicing in the volleyball room, the ball in his hand was a lot sharper. Gamma Iwakizumi sat aside to rest and asked him if he was unhappy. Toranori Oikawa rested his face on his hand and replied to her word by word.
